Map Overview
Lost Island is a sprawling 150 sq km map modeled loosely after Tamriel (from The Elder Scrolls). It features expansive biomes, dense redwood forests, and ancient ruined cities waiting to be claimed as bases.
Key Locations
- The Ruined City (Center) A massive, abandoned temple city nestled in the jungle. It is a highly contested PvP base location and contains deep cave networks perfect for hiding loot.
- The Volcano & Wyvern Trench (North) A massive volcanic island separated from the mainland. This trench spawns Fire, Lightning, and Poison wyverns. Be prepared to fight off Magmasaurs.
- The Gloom Grove (Swamp) A dense, terrifying swamp biome filled with Kaprosuchus and Sarcos. It is the primary habitat for the Sinomacrops.
Best Base Locations
The Redwood Castle (PvP / PvE)
Coordinates: 42.0° Lat, 56.0° Lon
An enormous ruined castle hidden deep inside the redwoods. It has high walls, towers, and courtyards. It's one of the most highly contested base spots on PvP servers due to its natural defenses.
The Desert Oasis (PvE)
Coordinates: 85.0° Lat, 75.0° Lon
A beautiful, peaceful oasis surrounded by massive dunes in the southern desert. You have easy access to silica pearls, oil, and mantis swarms without dealing with jungle predators.
Resource Hotspots
| Resource | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Black Pearls | The Geyser Pools (55.0° Lat, 70.0° Lon) | Look for the bubbling hot springs in the mid-east area. You can pick black pearls straight off the ground without swimming. |
| Polymer (Organic) | The Desert (South) | The desert is teeming with Mantis. Bring a high-level carnivore to farm thousands of organic polymer in minutes. |
| Metal & Obsidian | Volcanic Island (North) | The entire northern island is covered in rich metal and obsidian nodes. |
Unique Creatures
Lost Island introduced three community-voted creatures that completely change the meta.
Sinomacrops
A friendly, bug-eating flying reptile that rides on your back.
- Location: Swamps and Jungles.
- Taming: Passive tame. Walk up to it without sprinting or wearing Chitin armor, and feed it Chitin. It will fly around and eventually land back near you.
- Utility: The ultimate backpack. It acts as a glider, a parachute, and a jetpack (using stamina to fly you upward). It also scares away small pests like Microraptors and Pegomastax.
Dinopithecus
A massive, aggressive baboon that roams in packs.
- Location: Redwoods and dense jungles.
- Taming: You must kill the entire pack except the Alpha (the highest level). Once the Alpha is alone and below 85% health, you can passively feed it Mutton or Kibble.
- Utility: Can scale sheer cliffs effortlessly, throws feces that disable Tek armor/shields, and does not require a saddle to ride. They gain a pack bonus making them excellent combatants.
Amargasaurus
A hostile sauropod covered in massive neck spines.
- Location: Snow biome and Volcano foothills.
- Taming: Drink focal chili, sneak up to it, and feed it broth to synchronize with it. You must then hunt alongside it, helping it kill aggressive dinos to gain taming effectiveness.
- Utility: Can fire three types of elemental spikes (Fire, Ice, Armor-piercing) from its neck, making it a walking artillery platform.
Artifact Caves & Labyrinths
The map is littered with intricate cave systems, including a massive Zelda-style labyrinth.
| Artifact | Cave / Location | Coordinates |
|---|---|---|
| Strong | The Redwood Castle Cave | 42.0° Lat, 56.0° Lon (Inside the courtyard) |
| Massive | The Desert Labyrinth | 81.0° Lat, 81.0° Lon (Requires solving puzzles) |
| Hunter / Pack / Clever | The Jungle Temple | 55.0° Lat, 55.0° Lon |
Dinopithecus King
The final boss of Lost Island is a gigantic, mutated version of the Dinopithecus.
- The Strategy: The King will summon hordes of regular Dinopithecus and Amargasaurus to aid him. He can also jump to the pillars in the arena and throw massive explosive feces at you. You must shoot him off the pillars with high-damage pump-action shotguns.
- Required Army: 19x High-health Rexes (to tank the King and his minions) and 1x Yutyrannus. Alternatively, a fully mutated Dinopithecus army can utilize their pack buff to swarm him.
- Rewards: Tek Engrams, Element, and the King's Flag.
