Vah Medoh (Rito Village)

Taking to the skies with Teba to board the bird Divine Beast and master wind currents.

Reaching Rito Village

Vah Medoh circles high above the Tabantha region in the northwest. To reach Rito Village, you'll need to cross the Tabantha Great Bridge (watch out for the Hinox sleeping underneath) and follow the road north. As you climb higher, the temperature drops, so equip the Warm Doublet or eat cold-resistant food.

Once you reach Rito Village—a town built around a massive stone spire—climb to the top to meet Kaneli, the village elder. He will ask you to find Teba, a proud Rito warrior who flew off to confront the Divine Beast alone.

Cold Weather Warning

Vah Medoh is extremely cold. Before leaving Rito Village, make sure to buy the Snowquill Armor set from the local armor shop. If you are short on Rupees, buy at least the tunic and rely on spicy food for the rest of your resistance.

The Flight Range & Boarding

Teba is practicing at the Flight Range to the north. After proving your archery skills to him by hitting targets while gliding, he will agree to fly you up to Vah Medoh.

During the flight, Vah Medoh's cannons will target you. You must glide around the beast, wait for the cannons to fire, and then quickly use your bow to shoot Bomb Arrows into the four cannons at the tips of the beast's wings and tail. Bring at least 20 Bomb Arrows for this sequence.

Vah Medoh Puzzles

Vah Medoh's unique mechanic allows you to tilt the entire beast left, right, or keep it level. This changes the direction of gravity and wind currents inside the dungeon.

1

Terminal 1 (Right Wing - Lower)

Head to the right wing. You'll see a small cart on a rail. Tilt the beast downward to the right to make the cart slide across the gap. Jump in the cart, then tilt the beast to the left to ride it back up. In the next room, hit the switch to drop a bomb into the pipe. Detonate the bomb to break the rocks, revealing the first terminal.

Secret Chest: While riding the cart, look up. There is a chest on a small ledge. Glide to it to claim a Giant Ancient Core.
2

Terminal 2 (Right Wing - Upper)

In the same right wing, tilt the beast so the wind pushes you up the ramp. Use Magnesis to open the heavy metal doors, allowing wind to flow into the room. This wind will spin the windmills, opening the gate to the second terminal.

3

Terminal 3 (Left Wing - Switch Puzzle)

Head to the left wing. You need to hit an orange switch to open windows and let the wind in. Tilt the beast so a heavy metal block slides across the room to hold down a pressure plate. Then, use the wind currents to paraglide across to the terminal.

4

Terminal 4 (Left Wing - Underneath)

Go outside to the underside of the left wing. Tilt the beast so you can safely paraglide from the main body onto a small ledge extending from the wing's tip. The terminal is located in a small room right on the tip of the wing.

5

Terminal 5 (The Beak)

Head back to the main central body and ride the updraft to the top of the beast. Walk out towards the head/beak. Tilt the beast downward so you can paraglide onto the beak, where the final terminal is waiting.

Boss: Windblight Ganon

Head back to the main control terminal on the roof to begin the fight.

Phase 1: Windblight Ganon relies on his arm cannon and tornadoes. The key to this fight is abusing the updrafts scattered around the arena. Jump into an updraft, deploy your paraglider, and draw your bow in mid-air to trigger slow-motion (Bullet Time). Pepper his eye with Bomb Arrows until he drops to the floor, then rush in with your strongest melee weapon.

Phase 2: At 50% health, he will summon four small drones that act as satellites, bouncing his laser shots to make them harder to dodge. They can also group up to unleash a massive tornado. Keep using the updrafts to maintain the high ground. When he sucks air in for his vacuum attack, throw a bomb into the vortex and detonate it inside him to deal massive damage and stun him.

Defeating him rewards you with Revali's Gale, an incredible exploration tool that lets you create a massive updraft by holding the jump button, allowing you to bypass tedious climbing.
