Infiltrating Gerudo Town
Vah Naboris stalks the Gerudo Desert in the southwest. Reaching Gerudo Town is difficult due to the scorching heat during the day and freezing cold at night. Pack appropriate elixirs for the journey.
When you arrive, you'll find that "voe" (men) are not allowed inside. Speak to the merchant outside the walls, who will tell you about a man who sneaks into the town. Head to the Kara Kara Bazaar halfway through the desert and find the person on the roof of the inn. Purchase the Gerudo Outfit for 600 Rupees. While wearing this, the guards will assume you are a "vai" (woman) and let you in.
Speak to the chief, Riju. Before she can help you stop Vah Naboris, you must retrieve her stolen heirloom: the Thunder Helm.
The Yiga Clan Hideout
The Thunder Helm was stolen by the Yiga Clan. Their hideout is located in the Karusa Valley to the north. This section is a pure stealth mission. If you are caught by the Yiga Blademasters, they will seal the doors and one-shot you.
Use stealth up upgrades or potions. The Blademasters are obsessed with Mighty Bananas. Throw bananas on the floor to distract them, wait for them to inspect the fruit, and then sneak past. In the final room, use Magnesis on the hidden door behind the banner to access the boss arena.
Defeat Master Kohga (a surprisingly comical boss fight where you must use Magnesis to drop his own giant spiked metal balls on his head) to retrieve the Thunder Helm.
Boarding Vah Naboris
Return the Helm to Riju. You will rent a Sand Seal and ride out to confront Naboris. Stay inside the protective dome projected by Riju's Thunder Helm to avoid being instantly vaporized by lightning. Use Bomb Arrows to shoot out the four glowing pink hooves of the beast while riding the Sand Seal.
Vah Naboris Puzzles
Naboris is arguably the most complex Divine Beast. Its main body consists of three massive rotating cylinder segments. You will rotate these segments to align electrical circuits and create paths.
Terminal 1 (Main Cylinder)
Rotate the middle cylinder until the platform with the terminal is facing upwards. This is the easiest terminal to reach and introduces you to the rotation mechanic.
Terminal 2 (The Tail)
Look at your map and align the green power lines on all three cylinders so the electricity flows to the ceiling near the tail. This will power a rotating puzzle on the wall. Use Magnesis to align the metal nodes on the wall, extending the tail backwards. Walk out onto the tail, then un-align the power to make the tail drop back down, granting access to the terminal.
Terminal 3 (The Neck)
Head to the front of the beast. Turn the wheel to rotate the puzzle nodes and power up the circuit leading to the neck. The elevator will activate. Ride it up to the head, where you will find a wheel that spins the room. Turn it until the terminal is accessible.
Terminal 4 (The Humps)
From the tail, ride the elevator up to the top of the humps. This area is divided into two humps. In the first hump, defeat the corruption and drop down the hole to find the terminal.
Terminal 5 (Between the Humps)
You need to transport an electric orb from one hump to the other using the moving elevator platforms. Place the orb on the pedestal between the humps to power up the final terminal room.
Boss: Thunderblight Ganon
Prepare yourself. Thunderblight Ganon is widely considered the hardest boss in the game due to his blistering speed.
Phase 1: He will zigzag towards you at lightning speed. You must block with a sturdy shield (preferably wooden to avoid conducting electricity) or master the backflip Perfect Dodge right as he appears in front of you. Break his shield with heavy attacks, then deal damage.
Phase 2: At 50% health, he electrifies his weapons and summons metal pillars from the sky, raining lightning down upon them. Use Magnesis! Grab one of the metal pillars before it gets struck by lightning, lift it up, and hold it right next to him. The lightning will strike the pillar and shock him, knocking him out of the air.
Phase 3: Similar to Phase 1, but he attacks much faster and his sword is electrified. If you block with a metal shield, you will drop it. Keep dodging and exploiting Flurry Rushes.
Defeating him grants you Urbosa's Fury, a devastating area-of-effect lightning strike that also heavily stuns enemies.
