Divine Beast Vah Medoh

Conquer the freezing skies of the Hebra region and free the Rito Champion's spirit.

Preparing in Rito Village

Before heading to the village, make sure you have cold resistance food or a torch, as the temperature drops drastically as you climb. Once inside Rito Village, head straight to the armor shop and purchase at least two pieces of the Snowquill Set to grant you Level 2 Cold Resistance (Unfreezable).

Speak to the village elder, Kaneli, at the top of the village. He will direct you to find the Rito warrior, Teba, at the Flight Range.

The Flight Range

Glide down from Rito Village and follow the path north to the Flight Range. Speak to Teba. He will challenge you to hit 5 targets in 3 minutes while using the updrafts.

Jump into the updraft, deploy your paraglider, and pull out your bow to enter slow-motion. Hit 5 targets quickly. Once you prove your worth, Teba will give you 20 Bomb Arrows and offer to fly you up to Vah Medoh.

Boarding Vah Medoh

This sequence requires a lot of stamina and precision.

1

Ride the Updrafts

Teba will act as a decoy, drawing the laser fire from Vah Medoh's automated turrets. Use the massive updrafts surrounding the Divine Beast to glide high into the air.

2

Destroy the Cannons

Drop down, enter slow-motion, and shoot Bomb Arrows directly into the four laser cannons on Medoh's wings. Be careful to watch your stamina wheel—if you run out of stamina in the air, you will fall to your death.

Boss: Windblight Ganon

Compared to Thunderblight, Windblight is a walk in the park. The entire battle relies on aerial archery.

Phase 1: He hovers in the air and shoots tornadoes or laser blasts. Use the massive updraft vents around the arena to launch yourself into the air, pull your bow to enter bullet time, and shoot him in the glowing blue eye with Bomb Arrows. Three hits will drop him to the floor, allowing you to run in for melee damage.

Phase 2: At 50% health, he summons floating satellites that reflect his lasers. The strategy remains the same: use the updrafts and bombard him with arrows in mid-air. If he charges a massive tornado, sprint horizontally away from it.

Revali's Gale

Defeating Windblight grants you Revali's Gale, arguably the most useful Champion ability in the game. Holding the jump button creates a massive personal updraft anywhere in the world, allowing you to skip tedious climbing sections.
