THE EXPANSION PASS

Guide to the two massive DLC packs: The Master Trials and The Champions' Ballad.

DLC Pack 1: The Master Trials

The first DLC pack introduces difficult new challenges, useful map features, and exclusive armor items hidden across Hyrule.

Trial of the Sword

Return the Master Sword to its pedestal in the Korok Forest to enter this grueling 45-floor challenge. You are stripped of all weapons, armor, and food. Beating all three tiers permanently upgrades the Master Sword's base damage to 60.

Master Mode

A separate save file where every enemy is leveled up by one tier (Red Bokoblins become Blue, etc.), enemies regenerate health in combat, and floating platforms holding chests and enemies appear in the sky. It also introduces the fearsome Gold tier enemies.

Hero's Path Mode

A feature on your map that tracks exactly where you have walked for the last 200 hours of gameplay. Incredibly useful for seeing which areas of the map you haven't explored yet while hunting for shrines or Korok seeds.

Travel Medallion

A highly useful item found in the Akkala Labyrinth basement. It allows you to place a custom fast-travel point anywhere on the map.

DLC Pack 2: The Champions' Ballad

The second DLC focuses on story, puzzles, and a massive new questline that expands on the history of the four Champions.

  • The One-Hit Obliterator: You must clear four enemy camps and four new shrines on the Great Plateau using a weapon that kills enemies in one hit, but reduces your health to a quarter-heart, meaning any damage will instantly kill you.
  • Champion Quests: Follow Kass the bard around the world to complete challenges that unlock three new shrines per Champion. This culminates in refighting the Divine Beast Blights with restricted equipment.
  • The Final Trial: A fifth, massive Divine Beast dungeon located underneath the Shrine of Resurrection, ending in a phenomenal boss fight against Monk Maz Koshia.
The Master Cycle Zero

Beating The Champions' Ballad rewards you with your very own motorcycle! You fuel it by throwing excess materials (like apples, ancient screws, or monster parts) into its tank. It makes traversing the open world incredibly fun.

EX Treasure Quests

Both DLC packs scatter special journals around Hyrule that lead to exclusive retro armor and incredibly useful new items.

Majora's Mask

Found at Kolomo Garrison Ruins. Enemies like Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lynels will not attack you while wearing it, making exploration significantly easier.

Korok Mask

Found in the Lost Woods. Shakes violently when you are near an undiscovered Korok seed.

Phantom Armor Set

Found in Hyrule Field ruins. Provides a massive Attack Up boost, identical to the Barbarian Set, but available much earlier in the game without upgrading.

Zant's Helmet

Found in the Tobio's Hollow region. Grants the "Unfreezable" buff, making you completely immune to being frozen by ice attacks.

Midna's Helmet

Found at the Sage Temple Ruins. Grants "Guardian Resist Up", reducing damage from laser blasts.

Royal Guard Uniform

Hidden inside Hyrule Castle. Decreases the stamina used for charge attacks and climbing jumps.

Tingle's Outfit

Found in ruins across Hyrule Field. Wearing the full set grants "Night Speed Up". NPCs will cower in fear when they see you wearing this.
