The 15 Sheikah Towers
Activating a Sheikah Tower downloads the regional map data to your Sheikah Slate. While some towers are easy to climb, others are environmental puzzles in themselves.
Akkala Tower
Covered in Malice (the purple goop) and surrounded by flying Guardians. You must shoot the glowing eyeball inside the citadel ruins to clear a path, then carefully climb the remaining uncorrupted walls.
Eldin Tower
Located on the path to Death Mountain. It is not currently burning, but the heat nearby requires Flamebreaker Armor or Fireproof Elixirs to survive long enough to reach the base.
Woodland Tower
Sunk into a bottomless bog and surrounded by a monster camp. Use Cryonis (Ice blocks) on the mud to create stepping stones to the base of the tower.
Ridgeland Tower
Surrounded by a deep lake filled with Electric Wizzrobes and Lizalfos. Use the Zora Armor to swim fast, or approach from a high mountain and paraglide directly onto the tower to avoid the water entirely.
Major Settlements
There are several bustling towns in Hyrule that offer unique services, side quests, and armor shops.
- Kakariko Village: The Sheikah village. Sells the Stealth Armor set. Home to Impa, who provides the main story quests.
- Hateno Village: The largest Hylian settlement. Features the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab (upgrades your runes) and the Kochi Dye Shop (allows you to change the color of your clothes for 20 Rupees). You can also buy a house here!
- Zora's Domain: The aquatic city. The shops here sell materials useful for upgrading the Zora Armor. Talk to the King to begin the Vah Ruta quest.
- Gerudo Town: A town deep in the desert where "voe" (men) are forbidden. You must purchase the Gerudo Outfit at the Kara Kara Bazaar to sneak in. Contains a secret shop that sells the Desert Voe set and Radiant set.
- Rito Village: A vertical village built around a massive stone pillar. The armor shop here sells the Snowquill set, which is absolutely mandatory for exploring the Hebra Mountains.
- Goron City: Located on Death Mountain. It is literally on fire. You must drink a Fireproof Elixir to reach it safely, then immediately purchase the Flamebreaker Armor set from the shop.
- Tarrey Town: A settlement you build from scratch in the Akkala region via the "From the Ground Up" side quest. Once completed, it houses a merchant who sells rare gems and a secret merchant (Grante) who sells replacements for rare armor and the Hylian Shield.
