WALKTHROUGH · Chapter 6 OF 6

Mount Huaguo

Chapter 6 of 6

The Monkey King's home and the finale — with the secret Erlang Shen.
Setting: Chapter 6

What to do here

  • The Monkey King's home and the grand finale; mop up any remaining collectibles first.
  • Meet the Great Sage's Broken Shell and the climactic set-pieces.
  • Boss: the finale — and, if you've done the secret steps, Erlang Shen, the true final fight.

How much of this chapter is optional

13 bosses on Game8's list (Fextralife counts 18), 6 of them required

Which leaves 7 optional. That ratio is the shape of the whole game, and it is the one thing every source agrees on: most of what you can fight, you do not have to. The game-wide totals are another matter — published counts run from 88 to over a hundred depending on whether the guide counts secret bosses, repeat fights and summons — so there is no honest number to put here. The proportion holds anyway, so two out of every three are things you have to go looking for.

The finale tightens up: roughly half of its thirteen are required, the highest proportion since Chapter 1.

Thirteen bosses, six of them required

Seven of the thirteen are optional, and the ratio matters more here than anywhere: this is the last chapter, so anything skipped is skipped for this run. If you have been putting off optional fights to keep momentum, this is where that debt comes due.

The ending you get is decided before you arrive

There is a second ending, and Chapter 6 is only where it is collected. The route reported by players is: clear every secret area across Chapters 1 to 5 and finish the Chapter 3 treasure hunter questline, which opens the final secret area, Mount Mei, through the Great Pagoda in Chapter 3 and the fight with Erlang; beat him, then come back here and beat the final boss again. None of that is signposted — which is the real reason the optional content in the earlier chapters matters.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 5 September 2026 against the guides of Game8, GameRant, Fextralife and PowerPyx. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
