Black Ops 6 launched with 16 brand-new maps — 12 Core 6v6 arenas and 4 small Strike maps — all built around the new Omnimovement system.

Omnimovement & Tips
BO6's headline feature is Omnimovement — you can sprint, slide and dive in any direction, including diving backwards and to the sides. Use corner dives to peek aggressively, and the new intelligent movement options to auto-sprint and auto-mantle. Pair a high-mobility SMG (see loadouts) with these mechanics on the Strike maps.
Post-Launch Maps
Seasonal updates keep adding maps — Season 1 brought back a classic Nuketown and added Hideout, Extraction, Heirloom, Hacienda and Racket, with more each season.
Prestige & Progression
Hit the multiplayer level cap (Level 55) to enter Prestige — Black Ops 6 brings back the classic reset system: ten Prestige tiers, each resetting your rank and Create-a-Class unlocks (weapon progression, camos and reticles stay put) in exchange for a badge and a new calling card, before you reach Prestige Master and climb all the way to Level 1,000 for good. Black Ops 6 launched with cross-progression, so grinding either Multiplayer or Zombies banked toward the same account-wide unlocks, including Prestige — and that fed straight into Warzone once Black Ops 6's own Season 1 integration began in November 2024. As of this check, though, Warzone's live integration has moved on to Black Ops 7, whose own Season 1 took over in December 2025.
Cross-checked
Cross-checked on 5 September 2026 against Charlie Intel's and Dexerto's launch-map breakdowns plus Call of Duty's own multiplayer map guides, and separately against Activision's Black Ops 6 progression support article and Insider Gaming's Prestige write-up. They corrected two maps that had swapped categories above: Babylon (Iraq's ancient ruins) is one of the 12 Core maps, not a Strike map, and Warhead (a wrecked desert test site near Nuketown, not a "nuclear silo") is one of the 4 Strike maps, not Core. Several one-line settings were also off and are now corrected: Derelict is an Appalachian train graveyard, not a desert; Lowtown is a Southern European canal town, not Iraq; Payback is a Bulgarian seaside manor, not a desert canyon; Vault is the flooded sewers beneath a casino, not a vault room; and Gala is a Washington D.C. charity gala, not a casino floor. On Prestige, the sources agree on ten tiers before Prestige Master, with only rank and Create-a-Class unlocks resetting each cycle. They also corrected the cross-progression line: Black Ops 6 fed Warzone from its own November 2024 Season 1 onward, but Warzone's live integration has run on Black Ops 7 since Black Ops 7's own Season 1 in December 2025, so Black Ops 6 progression is no longer what current Warzone uses. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
