Every Nightfarer has a character skill and a charged Ultimate that define how they win a run. This is a quick 'how to play' for each — what role they fill and when to spend their kit — so you can slot into any squad with a plan.
Front-line & support
⚔️ Wylder
All-rounder — the grappling hook closes gaps and repositions; save the burst Ultimate for a boss window.
🛡️ Guardian
Tank — shield allies, hold aggro, and use the Ultimate to protect the squad through a dangerous phase.
🏹 Ironeye
Marker/ranged — tag weak points to buff the team's damage and poke safely from cover.
Damage & tricks
🪓 Raider
Bruiser — get in and trade with heavy hits; strongest when the team keeps aggro split.
✨ Recluse
Mage — weave elemental affinities for big magic; fragile, so play from the back line.
🗡️ Duchess
Rogue — mobility plus the ability to briefly hide the team or rewind recent damage; a clutch save button.
👻 Revenant
Summoner — spectral allies add bodies and pressure; great for splitting a boss's attention.
🥷 Executor
Duelist — parry-focused katana play with a beastly stance; high skill ceiling, high reward.
General piloting
- Spend your character skill freely — it's on a short cooldown and shapes your moment-to-moment play.
- Hold the Ultimate for boss phases, near-wipes or a coordinated squad burst.
- Lean into your role: markers mark, tanks hold, casters stay safe, duelists punish tells.
- Coordinate Ultimates with the squad so you don't overlap defensive saves or burst windows.
Skill vs Ultimate timing
- Character skill: short cooldown — use it constantly for tempo and positioning.
- Ultimate: charges over the fight — bank it for the Nightlord or a near-wipe.
- Don't dump both at once; stagger them so you always have an answer ready.
- Coordinate Ultimates with the squad so defensive and burst ults don't overlap.
