WALKTHROUGH: CHAPTER 3 OF 8

Chapter 3: Necessary Evil

Necessary Evil to Storm

Chapter Overview

Quests: Necessary Evil, For Victory!, Divine Messenger, The Finger of God, Storm (8–12).
Opens: Nothing new — this is the chapter that closes Trosky. Nebakov’s defence, the powder, and the road north.
Watch for: Everything in Trosky before Necessary Evil. Silence is Golden (prevent the raid on Semine) and Rock and Stone! (a dropped boulder) are inside these quests.

1. The door

Necessary Evil is the last quest that leaves Trosky open.

  • 1

    Before you start it

Seventeen side quests, eighteen tasks (EliteGuias, Fextralife; PCGamesN counts seventeen tasks), Brushes with Death’s Trosky half. The rule: all of it first. The region comes back after the credits, but nothing you leave now is on the way again.

  • 2

    Necessary Evil

Henry does what the title says. The choices here weigh on reputation for the rest of the act.

2. For Victory!

The Trosky war, in the open.

  • 1

    The battle

Henry in a line of men. Keep the shield up, let the archers work, and take the commanders when they come to you.

  • 2

    Semine

Silence is Golden is preventing the raid on Semine, and it is decided back in Necessary Evil, by what Henry tells von Bergow: a silver trophy and a quiet village.

3. The messenger and the fortress

North, into the powder.

  • 1

    Divine Messenger

A message that has to be carried and a road that does not want you on it.

  • 2

    The Finger of God

The defence of Nebakov fortress. Rock and Stone! is a kill with a boulder dropped through the hatch over the gate.

  • 3

    Storm

The storm that ends the act and carries Henry to Kuttenberg.

4. Fights and trophies

  • For Victory!: A battle, not a duel. Shield, stamina, commanders last.
  • Nebakov’s gate: Rock and Stone! is the boulder dropped through the hatch.

5. Before you move on

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 17 September 2026 against PowerPyx’s main-quest walkthrough and trophy roadmap (the quest order, the two points of no return and the quest-bound trophies) and PCGamesN’s quest list; the route is the guides’, not from a playthrough. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it. Re-checked on 1 October 2026 against EliteGuias, Vandal and Fextralife.
