Silent Hill 2 FAQ

1. Collectibles & Totals

The Endings checklist covers 8 entries. You can tick them off one by one on the Endings tracker, and the page keeps a running count as you go.

The Bosses checklist covers 6 entries. You can tick them off one by one on the Bosses tracker, and the page keeps a running count as you go.

The Weapons checklist covers 6 entries. You can tick them off one by one on the Weapons tracker, and the page keeps a running count as you go.

2. Playing The Game

Because many combinations in Silent Hill 2 change with the puzzle difficulty you picked, and the order of the Bug Room keypad code is random for each playthrough. A guide that hands you a flat number may be answering a different setting. The clue in your own inventory is the only correct source, which is why the puzzles page teaches the method instead of listing answers.

No. Three of them — Leave, In Water and Maria — are decided by how you play a single run, so you can only reach one per playthrough. The other five need items or keys that are only available on a later run: three from the original game (Rebirth, Dog, UFO), plus Bliss and Stillness, which the 2024 remake added. The endings guide covers what the game counts.

Updated on 23 September 2026: this answer, the checklist total above and the guide's stats previously counted six endings and were missing Bliss and Stillness, the two the remake added — both need New Game+ and neither is required for any trophy. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.

Yes. The story explainer is the only page that spoils the ending and it says so in its title and again at the top. The walkthrough stays at the level of buildings and routes, and the spoiler toggle in the bottom-left corner hides marked passages across the whole site.

3. About This Guide

15 pages in total: a walkthrough of the route through the town, guides to combat, supplies, enemies and the cast, a puzzles page, an endings guide, a remake-versus-original comparison, a spoiler-marked story explainer, and 3 checklists. Everything starts from the guide hub.

Yes. 3 separate checklists cover 20 entries between them — Bosses, Endings, Weapons — and each one shows its own progress bar.

4. Using GuideVault

No. Everything you tick is stored in your browser straight away, with no account and no sign-up. Creating a free account adds one thing: your progress follows you to another device or browser.

Yes, all of it. Every page and checklist is free to use, with no paywall and no locked chapters. Patreon supporters get cosmetic extras and a few convenience features, never content.
