Where things stand
Legacy of Atlantis has a date, a price, open pre-orders on most platforms and hands-on reports from the press. The newest footage is a one-minute teaser from 25 October 2026, made for the series' 30th anniversary. Nobody outside the studios has played the full game, so everything here describes demos and announcements.
The basics
A second remake
This is a full reimagining of the first Tomb Raider from 1996, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. Tomb Raider: Anniversary did the same job in 2007, which makes this the second official remake of that game.
Who makes it
Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog develop it together, and Amazon Game Studios publishes it.
Where it goes
Lara travels through Peru, Greece and Egypt, then on to a mythical Mediterranean island. She is hunting the pieces of the Scion, an artifact from Atlantis.
An expanded story
Amazon says the classic plot gains new connections between Lara's first adventure and her future. It has not said what those connections are.
The cast so far
Lara Croft
Alix Wilton Regan takes over from Camilla Luddington, who played Lara in the three previous games. She also plays Lara in Tomb Raider: Catalyst, and she finished her last recording session on 10 July 2026.
Natla
Adrienne Wilkinson voices her, as an official article of 31 August 2026 announced.
Larson Conway
A mercenary working for Natla, played by Bradley Snedeker through performance capture. His trailer arrived on 5 October 2026.

- How long the game is. No studio has given a figure.
- What the post-launch story pack contains or when it arrives.
- When Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders open. They will open separately, and no date has been given.
- How far the story departs from the 1996 plot.
What about Tomb Raider: Catalyst?
A separate, new game
Catalyst was announced alongside the remake at The Game Awards 2025. It is an all-new adventure from Crystal Dynamics, set in northern India, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It comes after Legacy of Atlantis.
Its date is unsettled
It was announced for 2027. On 24 July 2026 Amazon Games head Jeffrey Gattis said on a podcast that it would follow in 2028. Amazon then told Gematsu it had nothing new to share on timing, and Embracer's report lists the game under its 2027/28 financial year, which MP1st reads as ending in March 2028. Wikipedia and PC Gamer give 2028.
