WALKTHROUGH: PART 6 OF 6

Notre-Dame and the Endings

The organ, Death, Isaac, Dracula, and the way to the true ending

1. Into Notre-Dame

Notre-Dame is entered through a painting inside Dracula's Castle. One guide names the room with the painting, the Gallery of Eternal Night, and says you need The Artist and Brauner's Paintbrush to use it. Death is waiting inside, and the way to him is blocked by the cathedral's corrupted organ.

  • 1

    Narthex, Nave, Transept

Through the painting you arrive in the Narthex. One guide has you climb with the Arcane Whip into the Nave and on to the Transept, where purple, corrupted organ pipes block the way. Another finds the Clue The Corrupted Pipes of the Notre-Dame Organ here.

  • 2

Down to the Great Organ Room

Go down through the Notre-Dame Undercroft to the Great Organ Room. Two of the guides give this route. The organ there is played by stepping on its floor keys, and you need three Melody Sheets first.

2. The organ puzzle

3 Melody Sheets, 14 floor keys

  1. Clue Melody Sheet for the Fugue of Notre-Dame From the Spirit under the stairs of the Great Organ Room.
  2. Clue The Masters of Music Hide From Death In the Collapsed Crypt (one guide). It tells you where the other two sheets are.
  3. Clue Melody Sheet for the Sonata of Notre-Dame In the Sealed Scriptorium.
  4. Clue Melody Sheet for the Concerto of Notre-Dame At the top of La Flèche, the spire.

Each sheet is a sequence of symbols: zodiac signs, the Sun and the Moon. Play a sequence by walking or landing on the matching floor keys in order. You do not press a button, so take care not to brush a wrong key between two far-apart ones. One guide says the organ lights up green when a melody is right. Each correct melody clears part of the corruption, and after all three you can go back up to the Transept.

Only two of the guides write out the sequences:

  • Fugue: KeenGamer gives Moon → Sun → Moon → Virgo. Quest-Knight adds a fifth note at the end: Moon → Sun → Moon → Virgo → Leo.
  • Sonata: Sagittarius → Capricorn → Pisces → Aquarius → Capricorn → Sagittarius → Capricorn.
  • Concerto: Gemini → Cancer → Virgo → Leo → Virgo → Leo → Gemini.

3. Boss: Death, The Shadow

This time you can win. In the Catacombs fight you were meant to lose, but here you can beat Death and absorb his card. The guides place the fight in different rooms. KeenGamer says the Transept, with a cutscene of Trevor held above a dark sphere. Fextralife says the Choir.

  • One guide's advice: keep moving, use the room to reset after each of his attack strings, and save long weapon combos for clear openings. Use spells when getting close is too risky.

What you get

  • The Shadow Tarot card, with the spell Soul Harvest. You need it at the Clock Tower.
  • Weapon Vampire Killer. Two of the guides say Trevor gives it to Rose in the infirmary of the Deacon's Quarter. The guides disagree on its attack: KeenGamer gives it 100 ATK, Fextralife 40, which it calls the highest of any whip.
  • Double Jump. One guide has it unlock when Rose talks with Leon at a glowing yellow doorway in the Choir. Another lists it as a skill of The Shadow card.

4. Boss: Isaac at the Heart of the Clock

  • 1

Stop the clock with Soul Harvest

Go back to the Clock Tower. Equip The Shadow, then use the great clock while Soul Harvest is equipped; this switches it off and opens the real way up. One guide calls the clock the Cursed Horologium. This step decides which ending you head into; section 6 explains (spoilers).

  • 2

    Up through the machinery

One guide's route: the Clock Keeper's Atrium with its red clock switches, the Bridge of Haste, the Eastern Summit, The Gauntlet, then the Steps of Time. At the Steps of Time, hit the red switch at the bottom and climb fast before the machinery starts again. Another guide's video passes through the same rooms. The first says to use the save point before the Heart of the Clock.

This is the real fight with Isaac. The first one, on the bridge to the castle, was not. Stay mobile and use your strongest weapon and spells in the openings.

What you get

  • The Zealot Tarot card, with the spell Chronomantic Dive.
  • Weapon Chauve-Souris, the legendary spear, at the Heart of the Clock after the fight.

5. Boss: Dracula

From the Heart of the Clock, go on into the Master's Quarters and the Sanctuary of Solitude. One guide puts a Mirror of Life there, so save and refill your potions. Beyond it, cross the bridge to the Throne Room Antechamber and follow the red-curtained passage to Dracula.

  • 1

First form: Court of the Night

Dracula in human form, in the Court of the Night (one guide calls it the Throne Room). Another guide's advice: he teleports often, so do not start long attacks until he reappears. Step into the gaps between the flame pillars, and hit him in the pause after each spell.

  • 2

    Second form: Castle Rooftops

He drags Rose away and comes back as a huge winged demon on the Castle Rooftops. One guide warns of falling meteors and sweeping claws: move off the impact points, reposition before each sweep, and attack when his attack string ends.

6. The endings (spoilers)

Spoiler warning. This section describes how each ending is reached and some of what happens in it. Skip it if you want to see the endings fresh.

The guides agree on three endings: a bad ending in Death's trap, the normal ending after the first Dracula fight, and the true ending, which lifts the curse.

Bad ending: Death's trap

Past the Clock Tower, Rose seems to beat Dracula. Death then shows it was an illusion and reveals that Trevor's blood has restored Dracula. Credits follow. Two of the guides say this ending unlocks the Belmont's Fall trophy and a cursed outfit for Rose.

The guides do not agree on whether you can avoid it. Sportskeeda calls it scripted: you make no choice that triggers it, and afterwards you pick Resume and wake by a Mirror of Life. KeenGamer and Sports Rant say Soul Harvest at the Clock Tower clock keeps you out of the trap; Map Genie gives the bad ending to walking past the Cursed Horologium and the normal one to disabling it. GamesHorizon describes taking the trap as ignoring Leon's and Medusa's warnings, but does not mention Soul Harvest. IGN's video simply switches the clock off with The Shadow equipped and goes on to Isaac.

Normal ending

Beat both of Dracula's forms. Dracula falls, but the curse on Paris stays. After the credits, resume your save: the objective is still open, because the true ending is still ahead. Two of the guides name the trophy The Hunt Goes On.

True ending, step 1: The Sage and The Temptress

One guide's videos take the long way to the true ending, through the Hall of Mirrors and The Sage, who is Eleanor. Another says getting The Sage card helps you reach the Prudence trial.

  1. The Temptress Beat the Succubus in Belmont Manor, at the end of the Hall of Mirrors. She gives The Temptress card and the spell Life Drain. One guide's advice: avoid her low attacks and destroy her illusion copies to break her barrier.
  2. Clue Eleanor Flees to the Cemetary (spelled that way by two of the guides) points you to Holy Innocents' Cemetery.
  3. The Sage Sports Rant and IGN meet Eleanor in the Mausoleum of the Kings; Fextralife puts her in the Mausoleum of the Queens. The card gives the spell Mirror Walk.

One guide breaks four Sage seals before freeing her: at Mechanic's Ascent in the Clock Tower, in the Main Hall, in Notre-Dame's East Gallery and in the Prison Tower. Only that guide lists the seals.

True ending, step 2: the four Virtues

In Notre-Dame's Gallery of the Four Virtues, the Clue The Prophecy (The Cursed) sets the task: earn the four Virtues, then overcome Rose's own shadow. Each Virtue is a trial behind one of the gallery's windows, and you end each by ringing a bell.

  1. Courage, from Joan: a rematch with Joan.
  2. Prudence, from Eleanor: a platforming climb past saws and falling debris.
  3. Justice, from Saint Louis: a climb up a bell tower through enemies and hazards.
  4. Temperance, from the Ferryman: a platforming trial over water.

True ending, step 3: Rose's shadow

With all four blessings, use the altar under the lit rose window to start the fight. The guides name the boss differently. Sportskeeda and Sports Rant call it "???". GamesHorizon calls it Shadow Rose, Fextralife calls it Doppelganger, IGN uses both Doppelganger and The Self, and Map Genie files it as The Cursed. Beating it gives The Self Tarot card and the spell Absolution; three of the guides add the Shadow Work trophy. Then use the altar again and speak with the spirit of Sypha, Rose's mother.

True ending, step 4: Dracula again, then Absolution

Go back up through the Master's Quarters and beat both of Dracula's forms again. Then use Absolution on him: three of the guides say that owning the spell is not enough. If you do not cast it, you get the normal ending again. The true ending lifts the curse and unlocks the Curse Lifted trophy.

7. Part 6 Completion

Still to verify

One source each so far. Sports Rant gives a 12-second window after the final dialogue to hold the spell button for Absolution, and says that using the Clock Tower mechanism again re-arms Death's trap. GamesHorizon has a point of no return at a red pedestal with a Crimson Chalice in the Castle Keep Sanctuary. Map Genie says the true ending also needs The Warrior, The Whisperer, The Judge and The Sage completed, with their Arcana blessed. Quest-Knight gives the order of the 14 keys from left to right: the twelve signs in zodiac order, with the Sun and the Moon placed after Virgo. In IGN's videos, a secret organ song is played by counting the candles in the windows; it opens the basement of the Great Organ Room and the War and Famine legendary weapon. Two of the guides, KeenGamer and IGN, have Arthur (The Brittle King) in Notre-Dame's Chapel give Excalibur once you can pull it from the altar. KeenGamer adds the Stained-Glass Shield spell. Elsewhere on this page, where one or two guides give a detail: Quest-Knight names the Gallery of Eternal Night and what you need to use the painting, and says the organ lights up green; KeenGamer and Quest-Knight give the route to the Great Organ Room and write out the sequences; IGN finds the Corrupted Pipes Clue in the Transept and places The Masters of Music Hide From Death in the Collapsed Crypt. The routes through Notre-Dame, the Clock Tower and the Master's Quarters, the save point before the Heart of the Clock, the Mirror of Life in the Sanctuary of Solitude and the advice for Death, both of Dracula's forms and the Succubus are KeenGamer's, with IGN's video passing the same rooms. KeenGamer and Sportskeeda have Trevor give Vampire Killer in the infirmary; KeenGamer gives it 100 ATK and Fextralife 40, so its attack is disputed. KeenGamer also has Double Jump unlock by talking with Leon, while Fextralife lists Double Jump under The Shadow. Map Genie calls the clock the Cursed Horologium, and Sportskeeda calls the Court of the Night the Throne Room. Sportskeeda and GamesHorizon give the Belmont's Fall trophy, the cursed outfit and The Hunt Goes On trophy. The long way through the Hall of Mirrors and the four Sage seals are IGN's alone; Sports Rant says The Sage card helps you reach the Prudence trial; IGN and Fextralife spell the Clue "Cemetary".

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 16 October 2026 against KeenGamer's complete walkthrough, Quest-Knight's organ puzzle guide, the descriptions of IGN's video walkthrough parts 8 to 13, Fextralife's The Shadow, The Zealot, The Sage, The Self, The Temptress, Vampire Killer and Bosses pages, Sportskeeda's weapons list, Sportskeeda's and GamesHorizon's endings guides, Sports Rant's true ending guide and Map Genie's checklist. Quest-Knight names AllThings. How as its source, so it counts only where it adds to the other guides; on the organ it agrees with KeenGamer except for the Fugue. The organ sheets, the three bosses, their rewards, Dracula's two forms and the four Virtues are each in at least three of these sources. The note sequences are in two. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
