CHAPTER 7 WALKTHROUGH

Reckoning

The Kingdom of Pharm: a tornado, the Town of Sian, Mt. Reizan, the Forest Path and the Wandering Lands — five bosses, one after another

Chapter Overview

The chapter: chapter 7, Reckoning, in the Kingdom of Pharm.
The route: the tornado on the south side of Pharm; the Town of Sian; Mt. Reizan; the Forest Path; and the Wandering Lands.
The bosses: Aether (Ice), Ignis (Water), Alluvion (Lightning), Tellus (Wind) and Umbra (Light).
Optional: Bahamut, the last Esper, from Evan on the airship; the Visions Charlotte and Ayaka, through side quests; Lasswell's side quest, The Twin Titleholders.
Trophy: Past Glory, for clearing the chapter. No trophy in the game is missable.
Watch for: the chapter is mostly linear, and its side quests send you all over the world with the airship. Bring a spread of elements: each boss wants a different one.

1. The Tornado and Aether

The chapter opens on the airship. The airship shop has new stock. Fly to the big tornado on the south side of the Pharm continent; that starts the chapter proper.

  • 1

    Boss: Aether

Aether is waiting in the tornado, weak to Ice. It drops a Wind Scroll II.

    • Weak to: Ice.
    • Bring: Ice skills.

Before you head to Sian, new side quests are open: The Shield of the Weak at Grandport Harbor, and The Twin Titleholders at the inn in Gaberada. Both are in section 7.

2. The Town of Sian

The objectives: go to the town of Sian and gather information there.

  • 1

    Ayaka

The shops in Sian have better stock now. After the opening scene, head north and talk to Ayaka. Talk to her again straight away for the side quest The Admirable Apprentice, which ends with the Vision Ayaka (section 7).

  • 2

    A scene on the airship

From here on, boarding the airship plays a short scene. It leads to Bahamut (section 4); you can take it now or later in the chapter.

3. Mt. Reizan: Ignis and Alluvion

The objectives: go to Mt. Reizan, go deeper into it, then go after Alluvion. Two bosses wait inside, one after the other.

  • 1

    The mountain

A Tablet Shard sits in the south-west dead end, and two X-Ethers further into it; the next dead end to the east has a Magicite Cryst. As the main path crosses under a bridge, pick up another Tablet Shard. Then take the Resonance Stone, which matters for the airship radar, and follow a secret path to the east for an Analysis Hammer. The path then runs straight to a save point.

  • 2

    Boss: Ignis

Ignis is weak to Water. It drops a Flame Scroll II.

    • Weak to: Water.
    • Bring: Water skills.
  • 3

    Boss: Alluvion

Go on for Alluvion, weak to Lightning. She drops a Water Scroll II. Afterwards a Tablet Shard lies to the west; then leave. On the world map you are now at Lake Ryusei.

    • Weak to: Lightning.
    • Bring: Lightning skills.

4. The Airship: Radar and Bahamut

Back on the airship, before the next objective in Pharm, there is business on board.

  • 1

The radar and the last Adamantite

Give Lid the Resonance Stone to upgrade the radar again. New items show up: the Ancient Hammer in the water just south-west of Mobliz Shipyard, a Magicite Cryst near the Lost Cave in Grandshelt, the High Caster in the water a little south-west of Sian, and a Philosopher's Stone in the water straight south of the Rebel Hideout in Zoldaad. By now every Adamantite weapon can be made, once 89 Tablet Shards have been traded in for the last Adamantite. Merchant ships still roam: one north of Grandshelt sold the Ancient Tome for 45,000 gil. They move around and their stock varies, so buy what they have when you meet one.

  • 2

    Bahamut

Talk to Evan, next to the airship's wheel, and agree to visit the Esper. After a short scene you are in battle with Bahamut, who uses status effects often; beat him and he joins as an Esper. He drops a Magicite Cryst. Game8 says the scene only plays once you have every other Esper; RPG Site and PowerPyx set no such condition. The Esper tracker has all nine.

    • Bring: protection against status effects.

5. The Forest Path and Tellus

The main objective is back in Pharm.

  • 1

    Through the woods

A Megalixir waits at the east dead end, and a Tablet Shard at the bend of the path on the first screen. A save point comes before the boss.

  • 2

    Boss: Tellus

Tellus is weak to Wind. It drops an Earth Scroll II.

    • Weak to: Wind.
    • Bring: Wind skills.

After the fight and its scenes, go back through the Forest Path: its dead ends now hold two Chef's Knives and a Tablet Shard. Then the objective points to the Wandering Lands.

6. The Wandering Lands and Umbra

The objectives: go to the Wandering Lands, then go deeper into them.

  • 1

    The Wandering Lands

On the second screen, the first dead end to the east holds the Silver Key, and the path to the left a Tablet Shard. A scene plays partway along the linear path; pick up another Tablet Shard right after it. An Elixir sits beside the save point before the boss.

  • 2

    Boss: Umbra

Umbra is weak to Light. It drops a Demon's Ring.

    • Weak to: Light.
    • Bring: Light skills, and the Silver Key on a character who tanks with Multi-Cover.

The scenes after this fight carry you to the end of the chapter. The last objective sends you to the Crystal Tower, where chapter 8 takes place.

7. Side Quests, Visions and Trophies

The chapter's side quests travel the whole world. Two of them end with a Vision. Rain's substory, A New Leaf, is in the chapter 8 walkthrough.

  • 1

The Shield of the Weak: Charlotte

Talk to Charlotte on the pier at Grandport Harbor. Then talk to the three marked people in Grandshelt Castle, go to the marker partway through the Kolobos Ruins for an event battle, and speak to the person in the Cavern of Swords for a fight with a Magitek Weapon. Talk to Charlotte at Grandshelt to finish. Reward: a Magicite Cryst and the Vision Charlotte.

  • 2

    The Admirable Apprentice: Ayaka

From Ayaka in Sian. Visit the ley lines at Waterfall Way in the Olderion Federation, at the Infernal Hollow in Zoldaad's volcano, where an Ashasaur waits to fight, and on Mt. Thunderclap in Dirnado; then check in on Ayaka in Sian. Reward: a Magicite Cryst and the Vision Ayaka. The Vision tracker has all twenty-six.

  • 3

    The Twin Titleholders: Lasswell

Lasswell's substory, from the inn in Gaberada. Talk to the witnesses on the east side of Gaberada, defeat the Adamandelion on the island near Olderion, speak to the village elder, then go to the Lost Cave north of Grandshelt Castle. Reward: the Crest of Criticality and a permanent stat bonus for Lasswell.

  • 4

    The trophy of chapter 7

Clearing the chapter earns Past Glory. Nothing in the chapter can lock you out of a trophy; the trophy tracker has the full list.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 23 October 2026, the day after release, against RPG Site's and the FF Resonance Wiki's chapter 7 walkthroughs, the wiki's quest database, PowerPyx's trophy roadmap and Vision, Esper and party-member guides, Game8's Vision list, and KeenGamer's walkthrough, which follows RPG Site's route step by step and so is not counted as a separate source; and on 27 October against Game8's chapter 7 walkthrough. RPG Site, the wiki and Game8: the chapter's name, the order of the places (the wiki names neither the tornado nor the Forest Path), every boss's weakness, the Resonance Stone on Mt. Reizan upgrading the radar, the Silver Key in the Wandering Lands, and Ayaka in Sian. Charlotte and Ayaka as rewards of their quests: RPG Site, PowerPyx, Game8 and the wiki. The chapter of The Twin Titleholders: RPG Site, the wiki's quest database, Game8 and PowerPyx. The trophy's name: PowerPyx and Game8. Game8 alone: the Silver Key and Multi-Cover against Umbra, and the condition on Bahamut's scene. On fewer than three sources: Lake Ryusei, the chests and Tablet Shards of Mt. Reizan and the Wandering Lands, and the steps and rewards of The Admirable Apprentice, The Shield of the Weak and The Twin Titleholders: RPG Site and the wiki, with Game8 for the Crest of Criticality. Bahamut from Evan on the airship: RPG Site and PowerPyx; the short scene on boarding, Evan's place by the wheel and agreeing to visit the Esper: PowerPyx, with RPG Site for the scene. The Ancient Tome sold by a merchant ship for 45,000 gil: RPG Site and PowerPyx. That no trophy is missable: PowerPyx. The tornado, the new shop stock, the airship-shop note, the secret path and the Analysis Hammer, Lid taking the Resonance Stone, and what the radar shows, the 89 Tablet Shards, the merchant ships moving around, Bahamut's status effects, the boss drops, the Forest Path's items, the save points, and the scenes after each fight: RPG Site alone. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
