Missable Trophies and the Final Choice

Missable trophies
Six: TP Industries Arms Race, Red Mist, Kifflom!, Three Man Army, Altruist Acolyte and Wanted: Alive or Alive.
What protects them
Choosing Deathwish, the third option, before the final mission, protects four of the six. Altruist Acolyte and Wanted: Alive or Alive also need the right choice when you play them: take a hitchhiker to the cult, and bring a bail-bond target back alive.
Online trophies
None of the 34 Online trophies is tied to the story choice.
Playthroughs
One, if you keep a save from before the final choice.

One choice decides it

⚠️
After The Big Score, Franklin faces a choice with three options. The third is called Deathwish. The other two endings each cost you one of the three leads, and with him go his side activities, so every missable trophy that needs that character becomes impossible on that save. Pick Deathwish, or make sure all six missable trophies are already earned, and keep a manual save from before the choice.

The six missable trophies

TrophyWhoWhy it can be missed
TP Industries Arms RaceTrevorThe McKenzie Field Hangar arms-trafficking runs (ten, by two trophy guides' count); lost if Trevor dies.
Red MistTrevorAll five Rampages; lost if Trevor dies.
Wanted: Alive or AliveTrevorOne of Maude's four bail-bond targets brought back alive. Kill all four and the trophy is gone too.
Altruist AcolyteTrevorA hitchhiker from a random event delivered to the Altruist Cult. Chances are limited; drive every hitchhiker to their destination instead and it is gone.
Kifflom!MichaelThe whole Epsilon Program story; lost if Michael dies.
Three Man ArmyAll threeThree minutes on three or more wanted stars with Michael, Franklin and Trevor together off mission. Impossible once one of them is dead; one guide says to do it before the last five story missions.

What else rides on the Epsilon story

  • Cult Movie, one of the Rockstar Editor trophies, asks you to enter Director Mode as Cris Formage, the Epsilon leader. He unlocks with the last Epsilon mission, so Cult Movie depends on the same story as Kifflom!. One achievement site marks it missable for that reason.
  • Kifflom! is long. One trophy guide warns that its car-collecting step can stall for some players; keep a save from before you start it.
  • The Epsilon story is Michael's alone and opens as soon as Michael is playable, so it can be started very early.

What is not missable

  • The ten story trophies unlock as you play and cannot be missed. To Live or Die in Los Santos unlocks with any of the three endings.
  • Career Criminal (100% completion) can still be finished after any ending.
  • Gold medals can be earned on mission replays at any time, so Solid Gold, Baby! never closes.
  • Every Online trophy stays available as long as GTA Online runs on your platform. On PS3 and Xbox 360 it closed on 16 December 2021, which is why those lists can no longer be completed.

Saving and replays

  1. 1 · Keep more than one manual save

Save in a safehouse before long side stories and before the final mission. A second slot costs nothing and turns a mistake into a reload.

  2. 2 · Finish Trevor's list early

The hangar runs, the Rampages, the bail bonds and the Altruist delivery are all Trevor's. Doing them as soon as they open removes most of the risk.

  3. 3 · Choose Deathwish

At the final choice, take the third option. All three leads survive and the world stays open.

  4. 4 · Replay the other endings

After the story, the other two endings can be played from Replay Mission in the Game tab of the pause menu. A replay does not change your save.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 20 October 2026 against the trophy guides of PowerPyx and PSNProfiles, TrueAchievements' missable flags, and IGN's ending and trophy pages, with the trophy lists of PSNProfiles, Exophase and Steam. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it.
