Unlockables: modes, EX weapons, costumes and Raid Mode characters

From the start
Raid Mode
No Escape
Two unlock lists say: clear all four episodes on Survival
Where you buy them
The Rewards menu under Extras, with BP
The catch
EX weapons cap your rank at C and cut the BP you earn

Modes and difficulties

  • Raid Mode is open from the start, Capcom's site says.
  • No Escape is the hardest difficulty. Two unlock lists say: clear all four episodes on Survival.
  • Countdown Mode and Invisible Mode: PSNProfiles, the GameFAQs guide by vinheim and Bkstunt_31 and the fan wiki say each opens per episode once you clear it, bought for 1,000 BP per mode per episode from the Extras menu. One GameFAQs user list says instead that both open after beating all four episodes.
  • Countdown is a race against a timer that kills and hourglasses refill; Invisible hides the enemies and, by one guide's account, always plays on a hard setting. Both have trophies for every episode: see the Trophy Roadmap.
  • Everything else on this page is bought with BP from the Rewards menu under Extras once its condition is met.

EX weapons

WeaponWho uses itCondition
Chicago TypewriterClaire and BarryClear all four episodes, on any difficulty
BowgunClaire and BarryClear all four episodes on Normal or higher
Meat GrinderClaire and BarryClear all four episodes on Survival or higher. One user list calls it the Drill: it is the construction drill Barry picks up in Episode Two
Short SwordClaire and Barry, in place of the knifeClear all four episodes on Normal or higher with an S rank
Infinite ammo for all weaponsEveryone who shootsClear all four episodes on No Escape
Rocket Launcher ∞Claire and BarryClear all four episodes within three hours in total
KatanaMoira, in place of the crowbarClear all four episodes in Invisible Mode
Bubble GunNataliaClear all four episodes in Countdown Mode

Before you equip one

Using any EX weapon lowers your end rank to C and reduces the BP you earn. Leave them out of runs where you want an S rank, such as the one for the Short Sword, and out of medal runs that ask for a rank.

Costumes

  • Claire's Sniper costume: clear the campaign with the good ending.
  • Claire's Resident Evil 2 costume and Barry's Resident Evil 1 costume (the Classic outfits): clear all four episodes.
  • In Raid Mode, two unlock lists say, outfits come by other routes: Barry's Classic look at 40 completion medallions, Claire's at 50; Claire's Sniper look after the campaign plus Gauntlet VIII on Normal or higher, and Moira's Survivor look after the campaign plus Gauntlet VIII on Hard or higher.
  • Four more costumes come with the full game and the Deluxe Edition, or as paid extras; see DLC and Editions.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 24 October 2026 against the fan wiki's unlockables list (Fizzi's Steam guide carries the same text, so the two count as one source), the user-contributed unlockable lists on GameFAQs, IGN's Weapons page, Evil Resource's weaponry pages, PSNProfiles' trophy guide and Capcom's Japanese site. Raid Mode being open from the start comes from Capcom's Japanese site; No Escape from the wiki and GameFAQs. The Chicago Typewriter's condition comes from IGN ('any difficulty'), the wiki ('Casual or higher') and a GameFAQs list ('Casual'), which all amount to the same thing, Casual being the lowest. The Bowgun, Meat Grinder, Infinite Ammo, Rocket Launcher and Short Sword conditions come from the wiki and GameFAQs; the Katana and Bubble Gun from the wiki, GameFAQs and Evil Resource, which also confirms the Meat Grinder is the Episode Two drill and lists who uses each weapon. The C rank and lower BP come from the wiki, GameFAQs and Evil Resource; buying them in the Rewards menu from GameFAQs and PSNProfiles. Invisible's hard setting is PSNProfiles' alone. The campaign costumes come from the wiki and GameFAQs; the four store costumes from the PlayStation and Xbox store pages. The Raid roster comes from the wiki and the GameFAQs Raid list, and HUNK and Wesker from Capcom's Steam announcement and the wiki. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it.
