1. Into the Cemetery
From the signpost below the Prison Tower, take the left-hand way to the Holy Innocents' Cemetery. The third key is held by The Prophetess, who is Medusa, somewhere in the Roman ruins under the graves. The cemetery's main rooms are the Sepulcher of the Knight, the Fountain of the Innocents, the Ossuary of the Innocents and the Pauper's Grave, with the great Hollow Tree as the landmark; below them are the Roman Aqueduct, the Roman Baths and the Hot Springs.

1
Entrance, Cloister, Sepulcher
Head west through the Cemetery Entrance. Two of the guides put a cemetery Mirror of Life near the entrance and have you pass through the Cloister next; at the end of the Cloister you drop into the Sepulcher of the Knight, where the first Spirit waits.
-
2
The cemetery loop
From there the cemetery opens out westwards: the Fountain of the Innocents, the Ossuary of the Innocents and the Pauper's Grave by the Hollow Tree. Use the Clues below as your checklist; the Clues do not have to be found in order, and the Tarot menu lists each card's Clues.
2. The four Prophetess Clues
4 Clues, each from a Spirit
- Clue Roman Baths Sepulcher of the Knight.
- Clue Guardian's Gaze Roman Baths, on a ledge reached through a platforming stretch. It warns that the monster's eyes freeze you where you stand.
- Clue The Roots of the Hollow Tree Pauper's Grave, in a small upper room past the Chapel of the Kings.
- Clue Cemetery Fountain Above the Fountain of the Innocents. Anything thrown into the fountain disappears.
The Clues are named the same in every guide that lists them. Where they sit also agrees, with one exception: GamesHorizon files The Roots of the Hollow Tree under the Mausoleum of the Kings and the Cemetery Fountain under the Pauper's Grave, while Rock Paper Shotgun and Fextralife place them in the Pauper's Grave and the Fountain of the Innocents; GamesHorizon's directions (past the Chapel of the Kings; next to the Fountain of the Lost) lead to the same rooms.
3. Down to Medusa
-
1
Under the Hollow Tree
The way down runs from beneath the Hollow Tree into the Roman ruins: through the Roman Aqueduct, with its saw blades, and the Roman Baths, to the Hot Springs. Expect saw blades, spikes and floating Medusa Heads; the heads respawn, but you can hook the whip onto them to cross gaps.
-
2
Where the arena is
The guides do not agree on where Medusa waits. Rock Paper Shotgun and KeenGamer go on from the Hot Springs to the Serpents' Lair, save at the Mirror of Life next to it, and take the stairs down to the boss; Fextralife puts the fight in the Ossuary of the Innocents; and GamesHorizon reaches it by diving into the bubbling water of the Fountain of the Lost, which matches the Cemetery Fountain Clue.
4. Boss: Medusa, The Prophetess
The arena is a set of platforms, and Medusa's dangerous attack is the petrifying gaze, which the Guardian's Gaze Clue warns about.
- How to survive the gaze differs: KeenGamer says to turn away from her when she readies her eyes, while Rock Paper Shotgun says the beams fill the screen and the only safe place is behind the boulder she knocks onto one of the lower platforms.
- Attack between her moves rather than trading hits, and watch your footing on the platforms.
What you get
- The Prophetess Tarot card, with the spell Petrifying Gaze, which turns enemies in front of Rose to stone.
- The Prophetess's Key, the last of the three keys if you already beat Joan.
5. Opening the Gate to the Catacombs
With The Fallen's Key, The Warrior's Key and The Prophetess's Key, go back to The Fallen's arena and the sealed Gate to the Catacombs. Use the gate to set the keys and it opens: the Catacombs of Paris are next.
6. Part 3 Completion
Still to verify
Only Rock Paper Shotgun's cemetery walkthrough places these so far: the Lance in a chest on a mausoleum roof by the Fountain of the Innocents; the Abyssal Eye relic in a chest above the first coffin fight near the entrance, reached through a small crystal wall; the Raven's Feather relic in the Mass Grave, reached through a breakable wall in the Roman Baths; a Wise Heart Fragment in the ceiling of the long room north of the Cloister and another above the eastern door of the Roman Baths; a Brave Heart Fragment on the ceiling of the Ossuary, reached over the falling chandeliers; a Red ATK UP Book in the Ossuary and a Blue DEF UP Book in the Ancient Sewers on the way back; and the sword and shield Rusted Harpē and Aegis as you leave Medusa's room. KeenGamer and Rock Paper Shotgun both have a Giant Skeleton block the bridge into the cemetery.
Cross-checked
Cross-checked on 16 October 2026 against Rock Paper Shotgun's Holy Innocents' Cemetery walkthrough (part 2) and boss guide, KeenGamer's complete walkthrough, Fextralife's The Prophetess and Bosses pages, GamesHorizon's Prophetess Clue guide and the description of IGN's video walkthrough up to The Prophetess. The area names, the four Clues, the reward and the three keys are in at least three of them; the route through the rooms is Rock Paper Shotgun's and KeenGamer's, which agree. IGN's written walkthrough does not reach the cemetery yet. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
