THE MAP

Leonida, Region by Region

Leonida is Rockstar's modern Florida: a full state rather than one city and its outskirts. Six areas have been named. This page collects what has actually been shown of each — the geography, the character of the place, and the one or two concrete things attached to it. Everything past that is unknown, and is marked as such rather than filled in with guesses.

South: the coast and the islands

🌃 Vice City
The state's largest city, on the southeast shoreline. This is the Miami stand-in the series took its name from in 2002, rebuilt for a modern setting rather than the 1980s of the original.
🏝️ Leonida Keys
The island chain trailing off the southern tip. Jason and Lucia's starting apartment is here, which makes it the first place most players will spend time in.

West and centre: swamp, port and county

🐊 Grassrivers
The southwest wetlands. Notable for a reason beyond scenery: airboats appear here as a vehicle class built for shallow water, the one new vehicle type tied to a specific region so far.
⚓ Port Gellhorn
A worn coastal city on the northwest edge — a place that used to live on tourism and trade and now runs on motels, truck stops and whatever else pays.
🏭 Ambrosia
Rural and industrial county near Lake Leonida, the big freshwater body in the middle of the state. Sugar refineries and biker territory.

North: the wilderness

🏞️ Mount Kalaga National Park
Lakes, rivers, high ground and dangerous wildlife. It is the furthest thing from a city on this map, and the closest this game has to the empty country Rockstar built for Red Dead Redemption 2.

What isn't known about the map

  • Its exact size. Rockstar has only compared it with its own maps — about twice GTA V's and three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2 — and has given no figure in square kilometres.
  • The full labelled map — Rockstar has not published one.
  • Whether these six are all of it. They are the areas that have been named; nothing says there are no others.
  • What is actually in any of them: businesses, activities, safehouses, collectibles. None of that has been detailed.
  • How the regions connect, and how long it takes to cross between them.

How this page will change

On release this becomes a real map guide: each region with what is in it, where things are, and a tracker you can tick off. Until someone here has played it, adding any of that would mean copying a wiki or guessing from a trailer, and both are worse than an honest gap.
