Before you chase 100%, the one thing worth knowing is that almost nothing here is missable — except your house, which locks four trophies behind a choice you make in the first hour.
How many, and on which platform
PowerPyx and Dexerto's own trophy lists agree on 46 trophies on PlayStation (1 Platinum plus 45 others). Xbox and Steam carry the same 45 non-Platinum achievements — confirmed separately by TrueAchievements/XboxAchievements for Xbox and by SteamHunters/TrueSteamAchievements for PC — they simply have no Platinum to sit on top, since neither platform has that concept. There is no Nintendo Switch release to compare against.
The four sources checked do not agree on the Gold/Silver/Bronze split: PowerPyx and the Fextralife wiki both count 2 Gold · 15 Silver · 28 Bronze, while Push Square counts 1 Gold · 11 Silver · 33 Bronze. The total of 46 (45 + Platinum) is the only figure all four agree on, so that split is reported here as unresolved rather than picked.
What's actually missable
Exactly four trophies are missable, and all four are the same thing: reaching the Map Chamber cutscene with each of the four houses, roughly two to three hours in if you skip dialogue and side content.
| Trophy | House |
|---|---|
| The Gryffindor in the Graveyard | Gryffindor |
| The Toast of the Town | Slytherin |
| The Auror's Apprentice | Hufflepuff |
| The Wise Owl | Ravenclaw |
Your house is locked in for the rest of that save, so you only earn one of these four naturally. PowerPyx and Push Square both frame this as "not missable in the traditional sense": nothing is lost forever, but getting the other three means three additional partial playthroughs of the opening (about 2–3 hours each, per PowerPyx) on separate saves.
The one thing that is not locked by a choice, despite what you might expect: the three companion-quest trophies — for Sebastian Sallow's, Poppy Sweeting's and Natsai Onai's storylines — all run in the same single playthrough with no branch that can lock you out of one. PowerPyx and Dexerto both list all three as reachable in one save; the only genuinely house-and-choice-gated trophies are the four Map Chamber ones above.
Separate playthroughs, and difficulty
Budget for one full completion plus three short replays of the opening chapters (different house each time) to pick up the other three Map Chamber trophies. No trophy in the list is tied to a difficulty setting — PowerPyx and Push Square both say explicitly that Story difficulty is enough for everything, including the combat- and challenge-related trophies.
What takes the longest
- Collector's Edition is the biggest single ask: PowerPyx counts 603 collection items overall, naming 140 conjurations, 150 Revelio field guide pages and 168 collection chests among them (the remainder spread across the game's other collectible types).
- Merlin's Beard requires all 95 Merlin Trials.
- Savvy Spender needs you at the level cap (40) with all 36 Talent points spent — you'll clear the main story around level 26 per PowerPyx, so this one needs deliberate post-story grinding.
- Finishing Touches asks you to hit every enemy type with Ancient Magic (PowerPyx's count: roughly 34 types), and The Ends Petrify the Means wants 50 separate Petrificus Totalus kills — both are things you have to remember to do rather than pick up along the way.
PowerPyx's overall estimate for a full 100% is 60–80 hours.
A reasonable cleanup order
- Play the main story on your preferred house, picking up every spell and side quest along the way — this alone nets the companion-quest trophies and most of the story-related ones.
- Mop up collectibles (Merlin Trials, Field Guide Pages, Demiguise Statues, Astronomy Tables) once fast travel and Floo Flames are fully unlocked.
- Grind to level 40 and spend every Talent point for Savvy Spender, using the last stretch to also land the Ancient Magic and Petrificus Totalus counters.
- Finish with three fast partial replays of the opening — one per remaining house — to pick up the last Map Chamber trophies.
