Before you start
- 100% does not mean doing everything in the game. The Compendium in particular only needs part of what it holds: 50 animals, for example, not every species.
- One of the guides we read says nothing on the checklist is missable and that everything can still be done after the story, so it can be cleaned up in the Epilogue.
- Best in the West is one of the 51 achievements and 52 trophies, so it also counts towards the platinum, Legend of the West.
- Progress shows in the pause menu, under Progress, Total Completion, with a tick against each finished task.

Where the guides disagree
Two lines of the checklist differ between the guides we read: whether bounties are part of Missions & Events, and whether ammunition is one of the crafting types. Both are marked in the table. Doing the larger version of each, 5 bounties and six crafted types, covers both readings.

Cross-checked on 23 October 2026 against the 100% checklists of PowerPyx and IGN, the Best in the West notes of PSNProfiles and of PowerPyx's trophy guide, and the trophy lists of PSNProfiles, Exophase and TrueAchievements. Some details come from fewer guides: that nothing is missable and the Total Completion menu are from PowerPyx alone; the 90 challenge tasks from PowerPyx and PSNProfiles. For 100%, PowerPyx asks for 30 dinosaur bones, a set of 12 cigarette cards out of 144 and horse bonding level 4 as the maximum; IGN asks for all bones, one whole set and the maximum level without giving the numbers. The bone and card totals are checked again on their own checklists, each with its sources. PowerPyx's older trophy guide says 48 of 62 weapons; its 100% guide and IGN both say 48 of 59. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it.
