What the editions change for a completionist

  • The extra mission is High and Low Finance, a bank robbery with Charles offered at camp in Chapter 4. It only exists in the Special and Ultimate Editions, so a Standard copy never sees it.
  • Camp activities with the gang are gone when the camp moves on at the end of a chapter, so an owner of the Special or Ultimate Edition should take this robbery during Chapter 4.
  • The Ultimate Edition's extras are for Red Dead Online only. For Story Mode it is the same as the Special Edition.
  • Steam today sells the standard game and the Ultimate Edition; the Xbox store sells the Ultimate Edition and an add-on with the Story Mode and Ultimate Edition content.

What the PC version adds

💻 Story Mode additions
Rockstar announced the PC version with graphical and technical improvements plus new Bounty Hunting missions, new Gang Hideouts, new weapons and more.
🏆 Same achievement list
Steam has the same 51 achievements as Xbox, worth 1,000G there. PlayStation's 52 trophies are those 51 plus the platinum, Legend of the West. 17 of the 52 are earned in Red Dead Online.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 23 October 2026 against Rockstar's Newswire post announcing the PC version, the Steam and Xbox store pages, Google's notice closing Stadia, PC Gamer on the PC and Stadia launches, IGN's pages on the editions and the PC changes, Push Square (June 2026) and Collider (July 2026) on the current consoles, the bank robbery notes of PowerPyx, RDR2.org and the Red Dead Wiki, and the trophy lists of PSNProfiles, Exophase and TrueAchievements. The itemised contents of the Special Edition come from IGN's edition list; the Steam store confirms that the Ultimate Edition includes all of the Special Edition's Story Mode content. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it.
