Dragonslayer

1. The Road So Far

To reach this point you learned Dragonrend from the ghostly heroes at the Throat of the World, then trapped the dragon Odahviing in Dragonsreach ("The Fallen"). Odahviing flies you to Skuldafn, Alduin's temple, where a portal leads to the Nord afterlife — Sovngarde.

2. Entering Sovngarde

  Clear the soul mist

  Alduin feeds on lost souls hidden in a thick mist. Use the shout Clear Skies repeatedly to part the fog and advance toward the Hall of Valor.

  Cross the bone bridge

  Speak with Tsun, the shield-thane guarding the whalebone bridge. He lets you into the Hall of Valor, where three legendary Nord heroes — Gormlaith, Felldir and Hakon — agree to help you fight.

3. Boss: Alduin

  Ground him with Dragonrend

  Alduin circles and dives, cloaked in mist. Shout Dragonrend to force him to land — this is the only way to damage him meaningfully. The three heroes shout with you, so time your Thu'um alongside theirs.

  Punish the landing

  While grounded, hit him hard with your best weapon or Destruction magic. Keep Clear Skies ready to remove the storm cloud he summons, and dodge his fire-and-frost breath.

  Repeat until he falls

  He'll take off again — re-apply Dragonrend each time. There's no soul to absorb here; Alduin is scattered rather than truly slain, ending his reign over Sovngarde.

4. Ending & After

With Alduin defeated, the mist clears and the heroes cheer. Tsun teaches you the shout Call of Valor and sends you home. You return to the Throat of the World as dragons gather to honor — or mourn — the fall of the World-Eater. The main quest is complete, but Skyrim's story is far from over.
