Cooking happens at a bonfire, by grilling or by field-pot recipes, and a recipe is not needed if you have the ingredients. Food restores Health or Spirit and can add an elemental resistance; the list holds 57 items and every one is in section 2. Recipes are parchments you examine once; after that they can be sold or gifted. The cauldron brews elixirs (two of them) and dyes. Equipment crafting is done by a Blacksmith from "of the World" manuals, with materials and no currency. Kuku items are crafted at Grimnir's workshop once the Kuku Pot exists. What is not in any source read for this page: elixir combining, "Masterwork" rolls, ore tiers, hidden vendors and farming routes. The old version of this page had all of those; none survives.
1. How cooking works
You cook at a bonfire. The most accessible one early is where Renee is in Hernand (she also has a request that asks you to prepare a dish for her), and once the camp is unlocked in Chapter 3, during the Homestead subquest, you have a bonfire of your own. There are two ways to cook. Grilling is instant and simply improves what the raw ingredient recovers. Field Pot Cooking needs the recipe unlocked, tends to give better dishes and tends to ask for more ingredients. The Improvise option takes whatever you put in: the right ingredient in the right quantity unlocks that recipe, and a wrong guess produces a "mysterious dish" with a poor recovery bonus.
The interface shows the ingredients a recipe needs beside it, some can be swapped for alternatives (select the recipe and scroll down to see them), and no recipe is required to cook a dish you have the ingredients for. Cooking a dish that way enough times earns its recipe; for Chocolate the number is three Improvise cooks, after which the recipe joins the Knowledge tab. There is also a Special Cooking Pot, found in the world or bought and placed in your house at the Greymane's Camp, which is what Chocolate needs. There is one more stove: drop raw meat on the ground with Discard and reflect Blinding Flash onto it, and it cooks. The Kuku Pot from Chapter 4 is a different object altogether; it is in section 6.
Why the cheapest dish is the one to mass-produce
Food is the in-fight heal, and the arithmetic is simple: plain Grilled Meat restores 80 Health and costs one raw meat, Hearty Grilled Meat restores 220 and costs ten, so ten of the cheap kind (800 Health) outheal one of the good kind from the same meat. Food can be eaten every two seconds in combat, which is why 100 or more Grilled Meat is the recommendation for every boss from Chapter 5 on. The raw meat's grade does not matter — Tough Meat cooks into the same Grilled Meat as Marbled or Tender. Its supply route: the meat vendor in Hernand town, a green goblin woman on the south-west edge marked with a "?" on the map's environment tab, sells 10 Lean Meat, 9 Fine Meat, 6 Tender Meat, 7 Marbled Meat, 12 Tough Meat, 10 Bird Meat and 15 Lean Bird Meat, restocks at 0:00 in-game time, and the cooking pot stands immediately to her right (look at it with L1/LB, Cook, Grilled Meat, Make, Maximum; resting twelve hours at the pot brings the restock forward). Hunting is the other source: groups of five or more deer are common and each gives three or four meat. Fruit falls from fruit trees felled with an axe, other merchants sell fruit, defeated enemies sometimes carry food, and a second meat vendor opens in Pailune in Chapter 7.
The habit to build: cook as much Grilled Meat and Clear Soup as possible on every return to Hernand, because food is the only way to heal mid-battle. Two economies help: do not cook a meal that heals for more than your maximum Health, and empty inventory slots before cooking so there is room for loot. Our Bestiary records the same advice with different numbers: Game8's food list and PowerPyx's food page give Grilled Meat 80 Health for one raw meat and Hearty Grilled Meat 220 for ten, while PowerPyx's boss guide gives 140 and 280 for twelve.
2. Every food and what it does
The food list holds 57 entries: fourteen dishes in four grades each — the plain dish, then Filling, Satisfying and Hearty — plus Wine. Food restores Health or Spirit, and three of the dishes carry an Ice Resistance buff (the Equipment page has the ice-resistant gear for cold regions). Sell prices run from the plain dish to the Hearty one.

Dishes with a recipe but no printed effect
The manuals list (section 3) names twelve more dishes whose recipes exist in the world — Braised Fish, Braised Ribs, Chewy Rice Cakes, Fish Skewers, Grand Meal, Grilled Meat Steak, Lavish Meal, Meat Skewers, Pan-Fried Marinated Meat, Pan-Fried Rice Cakes, Pickled Vegetables and Salt-Roasted Fish — but the food list does not carry them, so their effects are not on this page. A Fruit Tea recipe also lies on a table in the Witch's Hideout in Pailune, again without an effect.
Chocolate, the one dish documented end to end
Chocolate: Health +50%, sells for 36 Copper, made from 5 Cacao and 3 Milk per piece with no substitutes, in a Special Cooking Pot. The recipe comes either from improvising it three times or from Donny at the Grocer's Shop in the City of Delesyia for 5 Silver, once his Trust is 100 and the Gearmelt Confectionery questline is done (liberate the confectionery north of Delesyia, work its machines, receive the Gearmelt Confectionery Pack, then raise Donny's Trust with coin purses). Cacao: a dispatch mission to the Cacao Farm north of Delesyia returns 30, needs an ally with the Farming skill (Terry or Evelyn) and unlocks after the confectionery is liberated and the farm is on your map; or plant Cacao Seeds, sold by Donny, in the camp farm; or open Engraved Wooden Boxes for a chance at seeds. Milk: 10 Copper each at any Grocer's Shop, which restocks every twelve in-game hours, or the Cow Milking dispatch at Pecus Ranch, south-west of the City of Demeniss, for 16 Milk with a Handler-skill ally (Luke or Ashton).
3. Recipes: where they are, and selling them
The crafting manuals list holds 44 collectibles. Twenty-nine of them are single-sheet recipes — 27 for food, one for an elixir and one for a dye — and the other fifteen are the books and blueprints in section 5. Thirteen of the food recipes are simply unlocked from the start: Battered Grains, Fish Skewers, Grilled Bird Meat, Grilled Fish, Grilled Fruit, Grilled Meat, Grilled Pincers, Grilled Seafood, Grilled Vegetables, Large Grilled Fish, Small Grilled Fish, Smoked Eggs and Toasted Grains. The rest are placed in the world:
| Recipe | Where it is |

| Bright Red Dye (dye recipe) | Unlocked by default; in the Greymane quest A Fresh Color, Naira hands over the materials to brew it free |
Learn it, then sell it or gift it
Examining a recipe for the first time shows a progress bar, after which its contents live in the cooking or crafting menu and the glowing sheen on the paper goes away. The sheet is not consumed by learning, so the answer is yes, sell it — but only after learning it. The alternative: recipes and manuals can be gifted to the vendors they relate to for Trust, food recipes to the Butcher's Shop, Inn and Grocer's Shop, crafting manuals to the Tailor's Shop, Smithy and Equipment Shop, and once a recipe is learned or a vendor's Trust is maxed the paper is junk in your inventory. The test for whether a document has already been read: select it in the inventory and look for "Knowledge acquired" in grey under the description. For books, open them on examining and turn to the page with the glowing blue text.
4. The cauldron: elixirs, dyes and gold
This is the whole of the "alchemy" the sources describe, and it is smaller than the old page's version of it. Elixirs are brewed in a cauldron and give a timed buff, and there are two: the Palmar Pill, which revives you on the spot with 30% of your Health, and Haiden's Lesser Elixir, which ignores Spirit consumption for four seconds and sells for 38 Copper. Nothing in the elixir or manuals lists combines potions, and no elixir adds fire to a weapon, hides you or raises critical chance. A cauldron stands in a witch's house, and the furniture shop at Timberhand Sawmill, south-west outside Hernand Town, sells one for 48 Silver.
Palmar Pills
The formula (Alchemy Formula: Palmar Pill) lies on a table beside the Witch in Shadow's Whisper Cave, north of Hernand Town, behind a crevice in the cliff; the cave belongs to the quest Refined Power, available after you take the letter from White Crow at the end of Chapter 2, and there is no penalty for picking the sheet up. The cave is very close to the bridge you cross on first reaching Hernand, and the witch does not sell the recipe — you simply take it. One pill takes 15 of a single compatible material plus 2 Water; the fifteen cannot be mixed from different herbs. The compatible list has 31 entries, most of them plants (Rosemary, Lavender, Cotton, Shrubby Sophora, Dunbaria, Marigold, Yellow Rosemary, Yellow Lavender, Peony, Pink Rosemary, Begonia, False Starwort, Snapdragon, Dendrobium Orchid, Satintail Root, White Rosemary, White Lavender, Ginseng, Wild Ginseng, Croton, Red Croton, Lily of the Valley, Pansy, Rosebay, False Hellebore) plus Short Horn, Long Horn, Bear's Gallbladder, Coral Mushroom, Oakwood Mushroom and Pine Mushroom. A Refined Palmar Pill formula also lies near the end of an Abyss area; what it changes is not described, so this page does not say. How to use the pills against bosses is on the Bestiary page.
Dyes are brewed here too
Discovering a dye — finding a bottle or seeing it at a dye shop — unlocks its recipe, and the cauldron's dye tab shows what each needs. The pattern: every dye is a pigment pair fixed per hue (ten pink Medicinal Herbs and three Rhinoceros Beetles for any red, fifteen Blue Lavender and five Lavender for any blue) plus a ratio of Longhorn to Stag Beetles that sets the shade — three Longhorns for Bright, two and one for Rich, one and one for the regular shade, one and two for Dark, three Stags for Deep — improvised with Y/△/F. A recipe you can see at the cauldron is a dye you have already unlocked, so brewing it gains nothing. The full list of dyes, recipes and Dyehouses is on the Fashion & Mounts page.
Alchemy Formula: Gold Bar
The second alchemy formula is not brewed at all: witches craft Gold Bars under their Craft Abyss Gear option from Brimstone ×3, Mercury ×3 and Silver Ore ×10, or from Golden Apple ×1 and Gold Ore ×3; a Blacksmith's Special Items tab turns Gold Ore ×100 into one instead. The formula sits on the third floor of the Spire of Insight in Demeniss, above the pen-tip-and-telescope puzzle floor, or on a small bookshelf just inside the Witch's Hideout south-west of the City of Pailune, reached by stairs at the foot of Silver Wolf Mountain (Black Bear patrols on the road). What a bar is for: one from Lioncrest Manor can be invested at the bank for 500 Silver.
5. Crafting manuals and the smithy
Crafting is done at a smithy — Turnali in Hernand is the first Blacksmith you meet — and costs no currency, only materials, which come from vendors, enemy drops, skinning animals and logging trees for timber and fine timber. Talk to the Blacksmith, choose the crafting option, pick the item, hand over the materials. At first only ranged equipment (arrows) is on offer; armour and weapons need recipes and blueprints found in the world. Crafting is not refinement, the permanent upgrade the same Blacksmith does; that is on the Equipment page, together with the FAQ's answer on free reinforcement at grindstones and anvils.
Each "of the World" series covers one equipment type and comes in four volumes, loosely tied to where its gear appears — Hernand and Demeniss gear in Vols. I and II, Delesyia and Crimson Desert gear in Vols. III and IV. Once a book's Knowledge is read, any Blacksmith in Pywel can craft anything in it. Every volume has at least one fixed location and many have several (the table gives one per volume, chosen for ease of reach from Hernand), and every Wooden Box also holds a manual, semi-random and skewed to the region it was found in — except Vol. IV, which is never in a box and is usually gated behind Research (paid for in Camp Funds rather than Silver since patch 1.18.00). The last column adds a second place for the volumes that have one.

Two more entries on the manuals list are single blueprints rather than series: the Aeserion Gear Blueprint, in a treasure chest in Serpent Shrine (Aeserion gear is already at level 5 when crafted; see the Equipment page), and the Fine Fishing Rod Blueprint, bought at Calphade's Back Alley Shop. Where the two columns name different places for one volume they do not contradict each other: most volumes exist in several spots.
6. The Kuku Pot and its items
The Kuku Pot is the vessel from Chapter 4's Mysterious Pot quest, made at Grimnir's Kilnden Workshop west of Hernand and taught by Togrum to swallow large objects with Axiom Force. It is a crafting system: every Kuku item is made only at Grimnir's workshop in Hernand — the counter is Grimnir's Kuku Shop — and only after that quest; patch 2.00.00 fixed items not being crafted properly there. The pot itself is the centre; six core items (the pot, the Enhanced Kuku Pot, the Kuku Cooler, the Small Kuku A.T.A.G., the Kuku Spear and the Kuku Pack) are built from it, and the armour, spears, packs, coolers and mechs are built from those. Carry a pot and keep Kuku items inside it. Blueprints mostly come from cleansing Sanctums: the Antumbra Order blockades them after the side quest Witch of Wisdom, and clearing one and solving its puzzle unlocks a recipe at the shop; the table below names the witch and the Sanctum for each.
The table lists all 31 items with their unlock and materials. The Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor blueprint comes from the Sanctum of Deliverance during the side quest Witch of Kindness.

What the items do, where a source says
- Storage. The Kuku Pot holds Abyss items; the Kuku Cooler is a 40-slot chest for cooking ingredients and the Enhanced Kuku Cooler a 330-slot one, both expandable to 1,000. The Kuku Pack is a Kuku Pot worn as a backpack.
- The three resistant armours each absorb their element's damage, glow when charged and, for ten seconds, answer the next hit with a burst of that element; VULKK prints them at Defense 4 → 38 fully refined, with the matching resistance at Lv 10 on its Flame and Lightning entries (the Ice entry's level is garbled on its page). Game8's Flame-Resistant page prints DEF 18, Fire Res 10 and Crit 2 for the same piece.
- Kuku Marni Laser Helm: locks onto everything in front of you and fires a laser at each after charging, up to three charges on a ten-second cooldown; Defense 2 → 21 with Daze Immunity. The helm it needs lies on a table at Marni's Masterium on Delesyia's south coast, reachable from Chapter 11.
- Kuku Breeze-Step Boots: a higher double jump; Defense 1 → 18, Attack 11 → 33. VULKK gives it three charges on a ten-second cooldown; KeenGamer, five, one regained every ten seconds.
- Spears: the plain Kuku Spear is Attack 1 and exists to be turned into the others; VULKK gives the Lightning, Flame and Propeller spears Attack 12 → 35 and the Bismuth, Laser Cannon and Disruptor spears 13 → 38, with Attack Speed Lv 1 (Lv 2 → 3 on the Propeller Spear). Game8 lists five of them, the Lightning, Flame and Propeller spears at 20 Attack and the Bismuth and Laser Cannon spears at 21, and has no Disruptor Spear.
- Spitters: Attack 25; aim with LT/L2/Q and fire a stream of frost, flame or lightning with RT/R2/RMB, thirty charges on a two-second cooldown.
- Packs: the Transmission 999K Pack projects a remote vendor; the Enhanced Kuku Disruptor emits waves that make nearby machines malfunction (15-second cooldown); the Watcher Pack deploys two small Watchers; the Rocket Pack gives flight and only Oongka can wear it, with Vertical Flight added by the Machine Parts Research Project at Zargan Tankworks after Chapter 10; the Gardening and Insect Gatherer's Packs harvest every plant or insect nearby on a ten-second cooldown.
- Mechs and the dragon. The Small Kuku A.T.A.G. is a component; the A.T.A.G. is a rideable weapon rebuilt from Gorthak's Valgash and the High-Mobility A.T.A.G. a faster variant. Abyssal Fusion becomes armour for Blackstar, the dragon of Chapters 9 to 12; the mounts themselves are on the Fashion & Mounts page.

The old page's alchemy combiner, elixir list, "Masterwork" 5% roll, ore tiers, three farming routes and three hidden vendors are described by none of these sources. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
