A Ming-dynasty China that never was: steampunk machinery, body modification, cyberpunk and horror grafted onto wuxia. It is a shared universe — S-GAME's earlier Phantom Blade: Executioners is set in it too.
⚙️ How far the machinery goes
Far enough that one of the places shown is a vast lake you cross by speedboat, and another is an abandoned warehouse full of puppets. This is not a historical setting with a few gadgets in it.

An elusive and powerful organisation of assassins. Soul was one of its elite — past tense, and the reason for that is the whole story.
The premise
A murder he did not commit
The Order's patriarch is killed and Soul is framed for it. That is the event the game opens on and the thread everything else hangs from.
A wound that should have finished him
In the hunt that follows, Soul is gravely wounded — the duel shown in the trailers is with Zuoshang, once his blood brother, and Soul loses it.
A cure worse than the injury
A figure the previews call the Flesh Sculptor, or the mystic healer, saves him — not by healing him but by replacing what was destroyed with a tainted heart. It works. It works for sixty-six days.
And a clock
That is the frame: find who did it before the borrowed heart stops. The hardest difficulty is named after it, which tells you how central S-GAME considers it.

What is deliberately not here
Everything above is from marketing material, previews and S-GAME's own statements — which is to say, the parts they chose to show. There is no plot summary on this page beyond the opening premise, because there is no honest one to write yet: the game is not out. On 29 October this page gets rewritten against what actually happens, and the spoiler controls the rest of the site uses will apply to it.

Cross-checked on 10 September 2026 and re-checked on 23 September 2026 against Wikipedia, GamingBolt, Game Rant's hands-on impressions and the pre-order coverage of Gfinity, Beebom and Dot Esports. S-GAME has named the actors for all four principal characters in separate announcements between August 2025 and September 2026 — Yucheng as Soul, Zhang Jinzhi as Mu Xiaokui, Donnie Yen as Mó Yuan (revealed 12 August 2026, also a creative consultant) and Zhang Xince as Zuoshang — and the table above now reflects it. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
