Phantom Blade Zero — What Is Actually Confirmed

Confirmed

📅 Release date
29 October 2026, on PlayStation 5 and PC. Built in Unreal Engine 5 by S-GAME, a studio based in Beijing.
🏯 The setting
The Phantom World: Ming dynasty China crossed with steampunk machinery, body modification, cyberpunk and horror. S-GAME calls the mix Kungfupunk.
🗡️ The premise
Soul is an elite assassin of an order he once served. A duel with his blood brother Zuoshang leaves him mortally wounded; a figure called the Flesh Sculptor revives him with a tainted heart that gives him sixty-six days to live.
🗺️ The world
Eight hand-painted maps that connect into one seamless world — S-GAME is explicit that it is neither an open world nor a linear run from start to finish. Pangzhen is the named destination city.
⚔️ The arsenal
30 primary weapons and 25 secondary phantom edges. Named categories include swords, spears, iron fists, hammers and ranged weapons such as the Tiger Cannon.
⏱️ Length
Around 20 to 30 hours for the main story, with roughly another 20 of side content — so 40 to 50 for everything, on S-GAME's own estimate.

Not confirmed, and worth not assuming

❓ Endgame co-op
Promised once, in a Discord Q&A at the May 2023 reveal: multiplayer dungeons, a boss rush, a roguelike abyss. Not shown or repeated since, and the Steam page lists single-player only. Flagged by readers on Reddit the day the guide was shared, which is the fastest fact-check there is.
❓ How many bosses
S-GAME has kept the total under wraps. What is public is the handful shown in demos and State of Play, which this guide tracks and nothing more.
❓ The collectibles
Exploration rewards have been mentioned in hands-on coverage — permanent upgrades to the energy gauge, and stands that reveal hidden parts of the map — but S-GAME has not published names, counts or locations. Trackers for them go up when the game does.
❓ Other platforms
PS5 and PC are the announced platforms. PlayStation's release-date trailer ends on a notice that the game stays off other consoles for at least 12 months after launch, so no Xbox or Switch 2 version can come before late 2027, and none has been announced.

Still to verify

Cross-checked on 10 September 2026 against Wikipedia, GamingBolt's State of Play deep dive, the playtime reports of PlayStation Universe and The Nexus, and GosuGamers, and re-checked on 1 October 2026 against Eurogamer.es, Vandal and Push Square. S-GAME has not published a boss total or any collectible names, counts or locations, so this guide prints none. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
