Bigger pouches, more health and more darts all come from hunting land and sea animals and crafting with their skins. A single dedicated hunting trip early can max most of Edward's personal upgrades.
What to hunt
- Harpoon whales, sharks and killer whales at sea for the rarest skins.
- Hunt jaguars, crocodiles, deer and hutia on the islands for craft materials.
- Craft ammo pouches, the health upgrade and the dart/rope-dart capacity.
- Some upgrades need rare skins — plan a hunting trip when you unlock the harpoon.
Harpooning tips
- Use the harpoon skiff mini-activity to hunt the biggest sea beasts (great white, humpback).
- Wait for the throw prompt and manage the rope — reel when the animal tires, release when it pulls.
- Killer whales and white whales give the rarest skins for the final capacity upgrades.
- Bank a few rare skins before opening the crafting menu so you can upgrade in one go.
Upgrades from hunting
- Ammo pouches (dart, smoke, rope-dart) — carry more tools into every fight.
- Health upgrades — survive tougher on-foot encounters and Templar Hunts.
- Pistol holsters — work up to the four-pistol bandolier for boarding chaos.
- Most need specific animal skins, so plan a hunting circuit once you have the harpoon.
