How many maps there are

Activision counts twelve Core maps, three Ground War maps, four Gunfight maps and Kill Block, and calls Shipment a post-launch map: it arrives on 27 October. Counting Shipment, one guide speaks of 21 maps at launch. Where each map is set, in the tables below, comes from two sources.

The twelve Core maps (6v6)

CachetteThe outskirts of a French rail terminal, with a wine warehouse and a mechanic's garage turned armory.
CoalNot described: Activision's launch post repeats Cachette's text under it.
LithiumA lithium refinery under attack in rural Mexico.
LotusA South Korean fishing village after an amphibious assault.
MumbaiA fugitive's hideout in a residential district around a Victorian market, with a rail line through it.

Shipment

The small container map returns as a 6v6 Core map on 27 October, after launch. Two sources set it in a Russian harbor.

Ground War

MapWhere it is set
Imjin FarmlandThe rural outskirts of Hajin.
Wolves StadiumThe urban heart of Hajin, around the stadium.
ForestA wooded hillside between Imjin Farmland and Wolves Stadium.

Gunfight (2v2)

MapWhere it is set
CafeA Paris courtyard with a fountain in the middle.
LibraryA wood-panelled state library.
NYCDowntown at night in winter, with a large stage in the centre.
SmugglerA rail yard with parked train cars.

Kill Block (3v3 and 10v10)

Kill Block is the Gunfight map that rebuilds itself: it runs Gunfight at 3v3 and at 10v10. Activision says it has more than 500 combinations. More on how it works is on the Multiplayer and DMZ page.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 26 October 2026 against callofduty.com's launch post on maps and modes, IGN's map list and Dexerto's map pages. The settings come from callofduty.com and Dexerto; for Transit 213 Dexerto names Mumbai and callofduty.com western India, and the Kill Block facility is spelled Westbridge by callofduty.com and West Bridge by Dexerto; the Ground War team size also against Game Informer's review. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
