Once your Pictos and Luminas are online, the Continent opens up its hardest content — the real test of your builds and your defensive timing. This is where the game's ceiling lives.
Preparing
💡 Finish your Luminas
Master your key Pictos so every character runs their best passives freely.
🎯 Perfect your defence
Superbosses demand near-flawless dodging and parrying — practice their combos.
🌈 Stack the Gradient
Build and time Gradient attacks to burst bosses during their vulnerable windows.
What's out there
- The two Axons gate powerful gear — clear them once your damage is online.
- Optional zones hide superbosses far tougher than the main story's fights.
- Chromatic/endgame enemies drop the materials for your final build pieces.
- Come back to the hardest fights after the story for the definitive challenge.
Beating a superboss
- Learn the full combo set on defence first — most superbosses can one-shot an unprepared party.
- Bring a dedicated healer/reviver build so a single mistake doesn't end the run.
- Break relentlessly, then dump Gradient and burst skills during the stagger.
- Re-tune Pictos specifically for that fight's element and attack patterns.
Rewards worth chasing
- Axon kills unlock powerful gear and progress the world's biggest fights.
- Superbosses drop the best weapons and Pictos in the game.
- Chromatic enemies supply the materials for your final weapon upgrades.
- Clearing endgame content is the true test — and the reward — of a finished build.
Do the character questlines first — in this order
This is the part that decides whether the hardest fights take an evening or a week. Each
Expeditioner has a post-story questline, and three of the four hand you the tools for the other fights. Doing them
after the superbosses is doing the grind twice.
| Questline | What it gives you |
| Sciel | Status Pictos — the ones that actually work on the hardest fights. Do this one first |
| Lune | Major endgame weapons |
| Monoco | His final Masks |
| Verso | The Doppelganger fight, for rare Pictos |
Go back to camp between zones. Dialogue you walk past is not always recoverable,
and a relationship meter left half-full costs you the reward at the end of it. It is the cheapest habit in the endgame
and the easiest one to forget.
What is actually out there
The four Axons are the named world bosses, and each has its epithet and location on the
Axon tracker. Past them sit the true superbosses, and past those the
Endless Tower — four more bosses added in patch
1.5.0, so an older guide will
not mention them at all.
Spoiler — the superbosses by name. The
two hardest fights in the game are Simon and Clea. Simon has around 45
million HP, which is the number that tells you what kind of fight it is: max-level weapons are not optional
preparation, they are the entry requirement. Once beaten, he can be fought again at will. Act 3 also hides two genuine
alternate endings alongside them.
45 million is a build problem, not a skill problem. Weapon level 33 takes roughly
35 Grandiose catalysts on its own — see
the upgrade ladder — so
pick the two or three weapons you will finish on and stop spreading materials across all six characters.
Still to verify
Cross-checked on 5 September 2026 against Game8's patch coverage and reporting from PC Gamer and The Gamer — which agree the Endless Tower added four new bosses in patch 1.5.0 and that Simon carries around 45 million HP. The questline order and what each yields is this page's own reading of several sources and is the part most worth checking against your own save; the claim that Sciel's status Pictos are the most useful is repeated across sources but is a judgement, not a number. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
