Expedition 33's defence is entirely real-time, and mastering it is the single biggest jump in your play. Dodging keeps you safe; parrying keeps you safe and refunds resources with a counter; jumping answers the attacks the other two can't. Learn all three and even superbosses become fair.
The three answers
Reading the rhythm
- Attacks are choreographed β react to the enemy's wind-up animation, not the projectile.
- Multi-hit combos have a fixed beat; count them and parry each hit in sequence.
- Unblockable grabs are flagged β dodge or jump them rather than trying to parry.
- A fight you fail once can be practised on the retry; the timing never changes.
Building the habit
Practice drills
- Fight easy Nevrons purely to drill parry timing before a hard boss.
- Learn one enemy combo at a time β parry the first hit reliably, then add the next.
- If a window is too tight, dodge it for now and come back to parrying once you're comfortable.
- Because fights are consistent, every retry is deliberate practice, not luck.
