The Expedition, Act by Act

Each year the Paintress paints a number, and everyone of that age turns to petals — the Gommage. Expedition 33 sets out to end it. (Kept light on spoilers.)

Act I — Leaving Lumière

  • Expedition 33 crosses to the Continent after the latest Gommage and immediately meets its horrors.
  • Learn the reactive combat, recruit Lune, Maelle and Sciel, and start building Pictos.
  • The act closes on a gut-punch that reshapes the party.

Act II — The Continent

  • Roam a larger world, gaining the flying map traversal and hunting the four Axons.
  • Recruit Monoco and deepen everyone's build with Luminas and gear.
  • The truth about the Paintress and the Continent starts to surface.

Act III — Endgame

  • Confront the source of the cycle and the family behind it.
  • Multiple endings hinge on a final choice — think about what the story has asked of you.
  • Post-game opens the toughest optional bosses for fully-built parties.
