Character Guides

Every party member wins by leaning into their unique system. Here's the plan for each — the mechanic to feed, and how they slot into a squad of three.

By character

⚙️ Gustave
Charge the Overload arm and dump it on a Break window; a reliable damage anchor.
✨ Lune
Bank and spend elemental Stains for scaling magic — flexible damage and utility.
🤺 Maelle
Cycle stances into Virtuose for a devastating burst; high risk, high reward.
🌙 Sciel
Build Foretell with tarot, then detonate for big set-piece damage.
⚔️ Verso
Climb the Perfection rank with clean combos for escalating output.
🐾 Monoco
Copy enemy skills via the Bestial Wheel for unmatched flexibility.

Fitting them together

  • Pair a resource battery (Gustave/Lune) with a burst dealer (Maelle/Sciel) and a flex (Verso/Monoco).
  • Give the risky burst characters sustain Pictos so a missed parry isn't fatal.
  • Match party elements to the fight — Lune and Monoco can cover most weaknesses.
  • Rotate everyone through the story so no Expeditioner falls behind in levels or Luminas.

Who to bring when

  • Learning a boss? Bring a sustain-heavy trio and play defensively first.
  • Need burst on a Break? Maelle (Virtuose) plus Sciel's Foretell melts staggered foes.
  • Facing a no-clear-weakness fight? Monoco's copied skills and Lune's Stains flex to cover it.
  • Rotate everyone through the story so all six stay levelled for the endgame.

When each one joins

You fight with three at a time, out of six. The first four arrive across Act 1, close enough together that the real party planning starts once you have them all.
ExpeditionerJoins
GustaveFrom the start
LuneIn Spring Meadows, the first major zone
MaelleAfter you reach the Manor in Flying Waters
ScielAs the last opponent in the Arena at Gestral Village — see the Gestral Village page
Verso and Monoco arrive in Act 2. The story turns at roughly the halfway point and hands you Verso, who then leads the party to Monoco’s Station, where you fight Monoco and recruit him. He is the sixth and last member.

Why benching someone costs more than it looks

A character’s Lumina Points equal their level, so an Expeditioner you left behind cannot run the passives you planned for them even after you master the Pictos. Rotating the party is not just about keeping levels even — it is what makes their builds possible at all. See Pictos & Luminas.

Still to verify

Cross-checked on 5 September 2026 against Deltia's Gaming and Game8 — which agree on the Act 1 recruitment order (Gustave from the start, Lune in Spring Meadows, Maelle in Flying Waters, Sciel as the Arena's last opponent at Gestral Village) and the Act 2 arrivals of Verso and Monoco. The exact story beat that unlocks Verso is still deliberately not described here beyond the spoiler note. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
