How to fish
Spot the ripple
Once you own the Rod, a fishing point appears as a shimmering ripple in a cleared room; walk up and cast.
Wait for the tug
Watch the line — when the fish bites and the prompt flashes, reel in.
Nail the timing
Reel on the exclamation prompt for a Perfect catch (better fish); early or late still lands a lesser catch.
Cash it in
Hand fish to the Head Chef in the House; each one pays out a resource that depends on the species — see the table below.
Good to know
- Each region — Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, Styx and the surface — has its own fish species to catch.
- There's a short window per room; if you miss the bite the ripple leaves, so cast promptly.
- Rare and legendary fish exist per biome and count toward the collection.
- Fishing pauses combat pressure — only fish in a cleared room so nothing interrupts the catch.
Fish & the Head Chef
- Hand your catches to the Head Chef; each is exchanged on the spot, and rarer fish pay more.
- There are no cooked dishes or run buffs: fish are a straight trade for resources.
- The Fated List's fishing prophecy wants 25 catches including a rare fish, then a word with Poseidon — volume, not a full set.
- A single fishing detour per region steadily completes the collection without slowing runs much.

Every fish, and what it is worth
Each biome has its own three fish and its own currency. The reward is the reason to fish at all
— a legendary catch in Tartarus is worth six times the common one.

Which fish you get is your timing, not your luck. The catch prompt grades you
— a late press gives the common fish, a clean one the rare, and a Perfect Catch the legendary. So the
Sturgeon that pays Titan Blood is a reaction test you can practise, not a drop you wait for.
Fishing spots are rationed. An eligible chamber has roughly a one-in-four chance
of holding one, and only if at least ten chambers have passed since the last. That is why they feel
rare early in a run and why it is not worth rerolling chambers looking for them.
