How to fish

1. Spot the ripple

   With the Rod equipped, a fishing point appears as a shimmering ripple in a cleared room; walk up and cast.

2. Wait for the tug

   Watch the line — when the fish bites and the prompt flashes, reel in.

3. Nail the timing

   Reel on the exclamation prompt for a Perfect catch (better fish); early or late still lands a lesser catch.

4. Cash it in

   Hand fish to the Head Chef in the House; enough catches unlock cooked dishes that buff future runs.

Good to know

• Each region — Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, Styx and the surface — has its own fish species to catch.
• There's a short window per room; if you miss the bite the ripple leaves, so cast promptly.
• Rare and legendary fish exist per biome and count toward the collection.
• Fishing pauses combat pressure — only fish in a cleared room so nothing interrupts the catch.

Fish & cooking

• Hand your catches to the Head Chef; hitting catch milestones unlocks new cooked dishes.
• Dishes grant run-long buffs — bonus health, damage or resources — chosen before you dive.
• Some Fated List prophecies want one of every species, so vary where you fish.
• A single fishing detour per region steadily completes the collection without slowing runs much.
