The Questions, Answered From the Sources

The basics

What can I play it on?

PlayStation 5 only, PS5 Pro Enhanced, released 15 September 2026, developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. No PC or other-console version is announced in anything we read.

How long is it?

The platinum takes an estimated 15–20 hours, which includes all 102 collectibles. Push Square's review puts the story at roughly 20 hours across Canada, Japan and Madripoor; Vandal's reviewer finished it in about 14 hours on a high difficulty, with some of the Nightmare Doors done.

How is it structured?

Thirty missions in five regions as PowerPyx groups them: Telambang, Canada, Madripoor, Japan and Madripoor again, plus a post-story trial; Vandal instead puts mission 29, No Coming Back, back in Japan, and mission 30, Brave New World, a non-playable scene, in Madripoor. It is strictly linear and not open-world, with invisible walls and a restrictive structure.

Can I miss anything?

No. There are zero missable trophies, and everything can still be found through Mission Select after the story. Mission Select unlocks as soon as you encounter the second Nightmare Door, in mission 5.

Is there a chapter select?

Yes. It is reached from the title screen under "Nightmare Cabin", and inside the cabin you interact with the bed to replay missions. There is a collectible tracker per chapter, visible both in the pause menu and in Chapter Select.

Is there a difficulty trophy?

No. Any difficulty earns every trophy, and nothing above the lowest setting is needed. There are five Challenge Levels — The Man, The Hunter, The Mutant, The Weapon and The Best There Is — changeable at any time from the pause menu, with separate sliders for enemy health, enemy damage and how fast you are detected.

What are the performance modes?

Insomniac has said that Performance Mode runs at 60fps with ray tracing on a standard PS5, and that this is the first of its games to make that mode the default. PlayStation's page lists PS5 Pro Enhanced with PSSR. We could not read a source that lists every mode by name, so none are listed here.

Is there a New Game+?

Yes, unlocking after the story — but no trophy needs it. New Game+ was in at launch, with photo mode arriving in a day-one patch and mission replay alongside.

Collecting and cleanup

How many collectibles are there?

102: 68 Material Crates, 20 Whisky Bottles and 14 Nightmare Doors.

What are they for?

Material Crates give materials to craft suits, and crafting suits raises Logan's total health. Whisky Bottles raise the Adaptation Level, which is how many passive Adaptations can be equipped at once. Nightmare Doors reward Adaptation Levels too.

Is there an in-game tracker?

Yes, per chapter, in the pause menu and in Chapter Select at the Nightmare Cabin. Two Adaptations, Crate Finder and Whisky Finder, also mark those collectibles at long range and through walls.

How many trophies, and how hard?

42: one platinum, four gold, nine silver and twenty-eight bronze. Difficulty is rated 2/10, with one playthrough required.

What is the extra Nightmare Trial after the credits?

There are 15 trials behind 14 doors. The fifteenth, "Best There Is", is the bottom-right figurine on the Nightmare Cabin shelf, available after the story; beating it at bronze and then following the scent trail outside unlocks the hidden epilogue for Repressed Memories.

Do the Deluxe Edition suits help?

Not for the trophy. The Deluxe suits do not count toward Adamantium Armory, which needs twenty crafted suits. PlayStation lists the Digital Deluxe at $79.99 against the Standard's $69.99, with five suits, five claws, technique points and early unlocks.

What the sources do not answer

We did not find a readable source for: the full list of performance modes by name, whether any DLC is planned, or the game's install size; the official Insomniac accessibility support page returned 403. The suit and Adaptation counts are on the Suits tracker and the Adaptations page, which also covers what New Game+ adds. Where a number is not here, it is because we could not read it ourselves.

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 22 September 2026 and re-checked on 1 October 2026 against the guides of PowerPyx, Push Square, Dayngls' Guides, GameRant and Vandal, EliteGuias' trophy list, the Push Square and GameRant reviews, TechRadar's report of Insomniac on Performance Mode, PlayStation's official game page and Wikipedia. Mobalytics returned 403 and GameSpot's, IGN's and Eurogamer's reviews could not be fetched. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
