The five Royal Virtues — Courage, Wisdom, Tolerance, Eloquence and Imagination — gate Follower bonds and dialogue options. Raising them on schedule is what keeps your bonds (and therefore Archetypes) progressing.
Raising them
- Do activities on the Gauntlet Runner and around towns to raise specific Virtues.
- Read books, take jobs, eat meals and answer questions to build them up.
- Higher Virtues unlock deeper Follower bond ranks (and thus Archetypes).
- Plan your calendar days to hit the Virtue thresholds a bond needs next.

Gate many bonds and bold/insightful dialogue choices in story scenes.
🤝 Tolerance & Eloquence
Open empathetic and persuasive options, and several Follower ranks.
🎨 Imagination
Unlocks creative choices and specific late-game bonds.
📈 Stack them early
Virtues rise slowly, so nudge each one whenever a free activity offers it.
Raising them fast
- Cook and eat on the Gauntlet Runner for reliable Virtue gains on travel days.
- Answer exam and quiz questions, and pick dialogue that matches the Virtue you want.
- Read books and take part-time jobs in town to nudge specific Virtues up.
- Line up the Virtue a bond needs next so you never stall short of a rank.
