Beyond the eight towers, the world is full of Alpha Pals (field bosses) and there are summonable raid bosses for endgame gear. Knowing what each type demands — and how to fight the two-health-bar tower bosses — keeps you from wasting a run.
Boss types
Beating tower bosses
- Bring the counter element and a ranged weapon — you'll out-damage the boss Pal while dodging.
- There's a time limit; don't over-dodge, and keep your active Pal attacking constantly.
- Strafe around the giant Pal's telegraphed slams and AoE; use pillars and terrain for cover.
- Pack healing items and a shield — a single big hit can end an under-geared run.
Alphas & raids
- Alpha Pals hit hard but can be captured — weaken and sphere them for an instant power upgrade.
- Raid bosses scale for co-op; bring several strong, condensed Pals and stock ammo.
- Farm raids for the best schematics and materials once you're at the level cap.
- Match your team's element to the target and swap Pals mid-fight as needed.
- New in v1.0.4 (7 September 2026): two sub-missions, "Beyond Dimensions", taken from an NPC at Fisherman's Point on Mount Obsidian, and "From the Far Side of the Moon", which it unlocks — the second one is a raid against a new boss, the Moon Lord. Not tracked here yet: nobody here has fought it.

Notable Alpha locations
- Anubis, a top Handiwork Pal, spawns at level 47 at the foot of the big statue in the Twilight Dunes; Grass-types like Verdash or Lyleen chew through its Ground typing fast.
- Frostallion roams freely once you reach the Astral Mountains' frozen lake, the same open way as the map's other free-roaming Legendaries. Jetragon doesn't: the 1.0 update moved its encounter off Mount Obsidian for good, to a fixed spot in the Sunreach sky islands — an older guide pointing you back to the volcano is out of date.
