Sealed dungeons scattered across the map hold chests, materials and a boss Pal at the end — one of the best sources of gear, Ancient Parts and high-level captures. They're timed and reshuffle, so they're endlessly farmable.
Delving
- Dungeon entrances glow purple; they're timed, so move with purpose.
- Loot chests along the way for materials, schematics and gold.
- The end boss is a strong Pal you can weaken and capture for your team.
- Bring healing and a mount; dungeons reshuffle so you can re-run them.
Farming efficiently
- Take the side chests: the timer only decides which dungeons are open, not how long you have inside one.
- Match your team to the dungeon's element (fire dungeons favour Water Pals, etc.).
- Re-run the same dungeon after it resets for repeated Ancient Parts and schematics.
- Higher-level dungeons drop better loot — return once your gear can handle them.
What to bring
- A counter-element team for the dungeon's theme, plus your best spheres for the boss.
- Healing items, a shield and ammo — bosses hit hard in the enclosed rooms.
- A mount for the approach; you can't ride inside, but it speeds the trip there.
- Spare inventory space — chests and the boss drop a lot of loot per run.
The timer is not what most guides say it is
It does not run while you are inside. The clock —
roughly 299 minutes by Game8's count — is how long that dungeon stays open on the map — it counts down even
while you are logged out, which is why dungeons appear and vanish between sessions. Walk in with two minutes left and
you can still clear the whole cave at your own pace. Nothing is rushing you once you are through the entrance.
So explore the side chests. The advice above about not over-exploring is the one
thing on this page worth unlearning: the cost of a thorough run is your time, not the dungeon. What the timer really
governs is which dungeons exist right now — only a limited number are open at once, and when one closes
another opens somewhere else.
Trust the entrance, not the number. The Palworld Wiki gives a
shorter window, about 200 minutes, and the day-length setting shifts it. The live timer at the mouth of the cave is
the one that is true for your world.
What a clear is worth
| Where | What is in it |
| The route in | Chests, however many that layout happens to have |
| The end boss | An Alpha Pal — beat it or capture it to open the chest room |
| The chest room | Two guaranteed chests |
| Typical contents | Skill Fruits, accessories and schematics — higher-tier dungeons, higher rarity |
Capturing the boss opens the room just as well as killing it. Which means the
Alpha at the end is never a choice between the loot and the Pal — bring spheres and take both.
Cross-checked
Cross-checked on 5 September 2026 against the Palworld Wiki (palworld.wiki.gg) and Game8's dungeon guide — which put the timer at about 200 and roughly 299 minutes respectively, and agree it governs how long a dungeon entrance stays open on the map, not a clock running while you're inside, and that the chest room behind the boss always holds two guaranteed chests. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
