Capturing & Pal Spheres

Catching Pals is the core of Palworld, and your catch rate is the difference between one sphere and ten. A handful of stacking bonuses turn a coin-flip capture into a near-guarantee — here's how to tilt every throw in your favour.

What raises catch rate

❤️ Low target HP
Weaken a Pal to a sliver before throwing — the lower its health, the higher the odds.
🎯 Back attacks
Throwing at a Pal's back adds a bonus multiplier; approach from behind for a big boost.
🗿 Lifmunk Effigies
Turn effigies in at the statue to permanently raise your global capture power.
😵 Status ailments
Sleeping, frozen or otherwise disabled Pals are easier to catch — and can't fight back.

Sphere tiers

  • Pal Sphere → Mega → Giga → Hyper → Ultra → Legendary — each tier adds catch power.
  • Craft the best sphere you can and keep a big stack; you'll throw more than one at tough Pals.
  • Higher-level or Alpha Pals need top-tier spheres even at low HP.
  • Craft spheres in bulk at a base with a Handiwork Pal so you never run dry mid-hunt.

Chain catching

Catching multiples of the same species builds its Paldeck 'chain', which grants permanent stat bonuses (and Technology Points) at milestones like 10. When you find an easy species you want strong, catch a run of them before moving on — it's free power for that Pal and pads your capture stats.
