故事前提
游戏的舞台是 Lapis 世界。简而言之：Earth Crystal 被 Veritas of the Dark 摧毁后，Rain、Lasswell 和 Fina 踏上旅途，守护剩下的水晶。Square Enix 自己的商店简介（Steam 和 Nintendo eShop 上完全相同）是这样写的：“Return to the pixel-art world of FINAL FANTASY, evolved from its classic roots. 登场人物
🗡️ Rain
主角，一名持剑骑士，统领 Kingdom of Grandshelt 的飞空艇部队。英语配音 Clifford Chapin，日语配音 Nobuhiko Okamoto。
🛡️ Lasswell
同一部队的副队长，Rain 的青梅竹马，自幼失去双亲，由 Rain 一家抚养长大。英语配音 Alejandro Saab，日语配音 Yusuke Kobayashi。
🏹 Fina
从 Earth Crystal 中现身、失去记忆的少女，擅长白魔法和弓术。英语配音 Lizzie Freeman，日语配音 Akane Fujita。
🌑 Veritas of the Dark
摧毁水晶的反派。英语配音 Ian Sinclair，日语配音 Akio Otsuka。Square Enix 的截图还点名了 Veritas of the Flame、Veritas of the Earth 和 Veritas of the Light 等人物，但没有说明他们的作用。
❔ The Archwitch
第五名有配音的角色：一名与 Veritas 为敌的神秘女子。游戏以她开场——你在序章中操控她，打一场很久以前的战争中的战斗，游戏在这里称她为 Archwitch。英语配音 Corey Pettit，日语配音 Inori Minase。她的身份，剧情留到后面揭晓，本页面也一样。
🔧 莉德
在某篇前瞻所涉及的 Wind Shrine 段落之前加入队伍，可以把自己的回合让给其他队员。她被描述为一名立志成为 Cid 的少女，也是与 Rain 并列的故事主角之一。
👥 Nichol、Jake 和 Sakura
Nakashima 在采访中说过，Rain、Lasswell、Nichol、Jake 和莉德各有支线任务，补充他们的过往并展现彼此关系的变化。Square Enix 的截图介绍 Jake 是一名反抗军领袖，Sakura 是 Mysidia 的贤者。三人都可操作：他们属于游戏的八名队伍成员，分别在第 3、4、5 章加入。

“A powerful military nation and the home of the Fire Crystal”，出自 Square Enix 在 2026 年 8 月 24 日公布的一批细节中的描述。

“The legendary city of mages”，冰之水晶所在之处。Sakura 被指为那里的贤者。
🌬️ Wind Shrine
第二章的地点，需穿过有随机遇敌的世界地图才能抵达，队伍在这里寻找风之水晶。几乎每一场 gamescom 试玩玩的都是这里。
从 Brave Exvius 继承了什么，又没继承什么
- 它改编的是 Final Fantasy Brave Exvius 的第一个故事篇章“Lapis”——只是一个篇章，而非整款手机游戏。
- 剧本和玩法都是从零开始编写的，剧情事件的顺序不同，还有手机游戏中没有的场景。
- 总监 Hiroto Furuya 表示，团队“并没有真正感到受原作束缚，因为我们本质上是把它当作一款新游戏来做的”。
- 制作人 Keisuke Nakashima 表示，制作 Resonance“需要的工作量、时间和预算与制作一款新作相当”，开发历时约五年，而且本作是作为主机 RPG 打造的，并非手机版的直接移植。
- Nakashima 表示，不需要了解 Brave Exvius，本作可以独立游玩。
- Furuya 表示，团队希望“站在同一起跑线上：无论你是多年老粉，还是第一次玩 Final Fantasy，我们都希望你能轻松上手”——因此幻兵的加成没有做到足以改变局势的程度，以免系列老玩家占优势。
- 据报道，Brave Exvius 的原班角色仍是叙事重心，幻兵角色在剧情中有实际作用，而不只是粉丝向的客串。
