Nightreign is built for a squad of three. Communication and role coverage win far more runs than raw skill β a coordinated group of average players will beat three uncoordinated experts.
Squad play
- Matchmake or party up; solo/duo is possible but much harder.
- Cover roles: a tank, a marker/ranged, and a bruiser is a strong baseline.
- Ping loot and bosses so the squad converges on the biggest power spikes.
- Revive downed teammates immediately β a full squad beats the Nightlord, a solo rarely does.
Communicating without voice
- Use pings to call targets, loot and 'regroup here' before the storm.
- Agree damage types and roles at the drop so nobody doubles up by accident.
- Stick together for night bosses even if it means leaving some loot behind.
- Watch teammates' health bars and peel to revive rather than chasing your own kill.
Matchmaking tips
- Play the flexible classes (Wylder, Guardian) when solo-queuing so you cover gaps.
- Assume no voice chat β rely on pings and predictable, role-based play.
- Stick with the group; wanderers who die alone sink the whole run.
- A patient, coordinated pug beats three aggressive strangers every time.
