Nightreign is a stand-alone spin on Elden Ring, set in Limveld under an endless, encroaching Night ruled by the Nightlords. It reuses the Lands Between's iconography but tells a tighter, run-based story of heroes banding against the dark.

Defeating a Nightlord pushes the Night back, but the aspects keep returning until Heolstor falls.
Story through play
Like the mainline games, Nightreign tells much of its tale obliquely — through item descriptions, the Nightfarers' remembrances, and the identities of the Nightlords (many are twisted echoes of Elden Ring enemies). The narrative rewards players who read as they climb rather than rushing boss to boss.
