SYSTEMS

Focus, Stances & Perfect Dodge

Beneath the spells, Wukong's combat runs on three systems: Focus that fuels your heavy attacks, three staff stances that change how those heavies work, and the perfect dodge that opens counter windows. Understanding all three is what turns you from surviving fights to controlling them.

The core systems

🔵 Focus
Build Focus points with light attacks (and perfect dodges), then spend them on a charged Heavy for a massive Staff Smash.
🌀 Staff stances
Smash (overhead burst), Pillar (vault up for invulnerability, then slam) and Thrust (extra reach) — swap to fit the fight.
💨 Perfect dodge
A last-moment evade (boosted by the Mind's Eye tree) leaves an afterimage and opens the biggest counter windows.

Putting it together

  • Bank Focus during safe windows so a whiffed boss attack becomes an instant charged Heavy.
  • Pillar stance's vault has invulnerability frames — use it to dodge sweeps and punish.
  • Perfect-dodge the big telegraphed wind-ups rather than rolling early out of fear.
  • Vary stances mid-fight: Thrust to poke from range, Smash to burst a staggered boss.
