Black Myth has multiple endings and a New Game Plus that carries your progress forward. The second run is where most players actually see the content they walked past the first time, because you already know where to look.
Endgame
- The standard ending plays after Chapter 6's finale.
- Completing the hidden objectives across chapters unlocks the true ending and the secret Erlang Shen fight.
- New Game+ carries your build forward for a harder run and remaining collectibles.
- Use NG+ to finish any transformations, Spirits and gear you missed.
Planning your runs
- First run: enjoy the story, but track the true-ending steps if you want it in one go.
- NG+ keeps your levels, gear and spells, so it's ideal for cleanup and harder bosses.
- Enemies scale up in NG+ — bring your fully mastered build and best staff.
- Anything missable in the base game can be finished during the NG+ pass.
NG+ scaling
- Enemies gain health and damage in NG+ — bring your best staff and a full build.
- Your levels, gear, spells and Spirits all carry over, so you start strong.
- Use the tougher run to master bosses you barely beat the first time.
- Finish any missed collectibles and the true-ending steps here if you skipped them.
What carries over
- Your level, skill points and the gear you crafted.
- Knowledge of where the optional bosses and hidden areas are — the real advantage.
- Unlocks tied to the secret ending, if you earned them.
What to do differently
Go for the secret content early
The requirements are spread across chapters and easy to lock yourself out of. Knowing them up front is the point of a second run.
Try the stance you skipped
You will have ignored two of the three. The game plays noticeably differently through each.
Fight the optional bosses you avoided
They hold the gear that makes the late chapters comfortable.
