What Digital Foundry found on consoles

  • Pure Xbox, reporting Digital Foundry's analysis: Xbox Series X renders at about 864p in its 60fps mode and 1260p in its 30fps mode, both largely stable; Series S has a single mode at 864p and 30fps with settings matching the Series X's 30fps mode.
  • Remedy's 1440p and 2160p figures for PS5 are output targets; Digital Foundry's are the resolution the game renders at before upscaling, so the two are not measuring the same thing. We did not find Digital Foundry's base-PS5 figures in a source we could read.
  • Digital Foundry, via Pure Xbox, found incoherent distant shadows, weak screen-space reflections, camera collision problems and visible image breakup on every console except the PS5 Pro.
  • Push Square played on PS5 Pro and found performance mode steady and sharp; on a base PS5 the image was softer and the frame rate dipped in heavy fights.
  • No Remedy post we read lists Xbox Series X|S modes. The Xbox store lists the game as optimized for Series X|S.

Common to every PC tier

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit; 16 GB of RAM; 120 GB of storage, SSD required. The minimum and recommended rows match the Steam page exactly; the other four come from Remedy's spec sheet as transcribed by TweakTown and DSOGaming, which agree with each other. Upscaling: DLSS 4.5, FSR 4.1 and XeSS, with frame generation optional (TweakTown). Nvidia adds DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation up to 6X, and full path tracing; Wikipedia notes RTX Mega Geometry as well. Nvidia's frame-rate figures, such as up to 320fps at 4K on an RTX 5090, are with 6X frame generation and are Nvidia's own marketing numbers.

DualSense adaptive-trigger resistance for abilities such as Barrage and the Volatile Anomaly, radio chatter through the controller speaker, 3D audio, and Activity cards for the main story (Remedy; PlayStation Blog).

Cross-checked

Cross-checked on 23 September 2026 against Remedy's PS5 features post on the PlayStation Blog (15 September), the PlayStation Blog's 18 September hands-on, the Steam store page and store data, Remedy's FAQ on Steam, the Xbox store listing, Pure Xbox's report on Digital Foundry's analysis, Push Square's review, TweakTown's and DSOGaming's transcriptions of the PC requirements, Nvidia's GeForce news post and Wikipedia's article. We did not watch Digital Foundry's video itself; its findings are as Pure Xbox reports them. Not from a playthrough: nobody here has played it, and what the sources do not describe is not on this page.
