All 49 Weapons, Their Abilities and Where They Are

How gear grows

⚔️ 49 weapons, 7 each
Every character has seven weapons, found in chests, bought in shops or given by quests. Nothing is lost: a weapon you walk past turns up in a later shop. Weapons level with the character, so an old favourite is never obsolete for stats — only for its ability.
📘 One ability per weapon
Each weapon teaches one ability. Use it under the condition the weapon describes (on a staggered enemy, from behind, as a finisher) to fill its proficiency; once mastered, the ability is the character's for good and the weapon can go. The Weapons 101 trophy is any one ability mastered; Well-Rounded is every weapon ability and every limit break, folio ones included.
🌳 The folio
Each character's skill tree, bought with SP. SP comes from levelling and from manuscripts, which drop from bosses and challenges — and, on hard mode, from bosses again. Folio nodes hold the higher limit breaks, stat lines, and the synergy skills and abilities for each pair.
📊 Party level
A separate level for the whole party, raised by doing things in the world: side quests, intel, minigames. Higher party level unlocks more of each folio, which is why completion in one region feeds combat everywhere.

Order of operations

  1. Master the ability, then change weapon

Check the proficiency condition in the weapon's page and set that character's ATB spending around it for a few fights. Most conditions take a handful of correct uses, not hours.

  2. Buy what you skipped in the next town

Shops carry the weapons of the region you are in and the ones you missed earlier, so a completionist sweep is a shopping list, not a backtrack.

  3. Spend SP on limits and synergy first

Stat nodes are small; the level-2 and level-3 limit breaks and the pair abilities change fights. Manuscripts from hard-mode bosses are how the last nodes open.

  4. Accessories are the real build slot

Weapons decide the ability; accessories decide the character. Genji pieces from Gilgamesh Island are the end of that road.

Still to verify

Cross-checked on 16 September 2026 and re-checked on 1 October 2026 against the trophy list and the guides of Game8, RPG Site, Vandal and EliteGuias. What is still unverified is the only thing reading cannot settle — nobody here has played it.
